@globe2ride : looks good to me.
for the ride, u can wear my bionic leg & elbow guards [will carry them w/ me to the point of rendezvous & u put them on thereafter - pls do return them once we r back ]
as for the n650, i am the most docile ninja's on the planet.
dont worry about the speed part... i dont race either... i focus more on enjoying the journey...
do anything that gives u joy... if speed is what gives u that, by all means do rip it...
but if cruising @ 80-90 is what puts a grin on ur face [it sure does on mine] by all means do that too!
we might have 1~2 more folks joining us for the ride...
if not, we will continue on our own...

@Flybiker : good pics there ha. bhandardara dry mein dekhne ki aadat he nahi rahi ab. 1st pics of this season showing that area in dry! good stuff!
AND u took off ur jacket?
bad boy!!!
remember sweat is better than blood!
use cordura mesh or textile jackets in summers!
Thanks bro, i knew it was not going to rain and i was fine wit that (being an aviator, weather check is always on top of my checklist).
Also i am done with monsoon riding, dont like me and my bike getting dirty everytime. But the weather was pretty cool at Bhandardara.
And as for the jacket part, i totally agree with you and i am just saving to buy myself a new one pretty soon.
Frankly speaking i wasnt too much into safety gear till i joined xbhp. So yeah i give xbhp full credit for making me understand the importance of a proper riding gear. So when i finally get mine, i will look forward to joining you guys for my first g2g.
You got a Ninja 650 and thats one mean machine man. Waiting for the day when i would be able to afford a Ninja 300.
Cheers.

whymail : That sounds great. I've never touched riding gear before. That's quite generous of you willing to share it with a stranger. Am excited about the ride now.. I have updated the list in the first post with my details. Let's Ride!
Gear for sale: fake A* bionic knee guards, 3" bar end mirrors. PM if interested.

@Flybiker : instead of a n300, aim for a n650. or better still the zx10, zx14 or the z1000 that's officially announded today in india
the z800 / z1000 are downright pant-wetting material!
oh & in case u want to be even smarter... wait for another year for the ktm duke 690 - to be released for sub-4L price.
barring the ugly looks, she is one hOOt of a ride.

@globe2ride : sharing the gear is no big deal. there are dozens of folks here who do that. sharing that w/ a stranger is no problem either... bhaag bhaag kar kidhar bhagoge? pls do keep an eye out on this thread. will share more details on the BF ride here or via PM or over ur cell #

whymail - Frankly speaking, for me its what appeals to the eye. Also, i feel these big machines are not suited for India, same even goes for high end powerful cars. Considering the roads, the people, the atmosphere, its just an insult to ride such bikes here. To let you know, i used to ride my friend's CBR in states. And that same feeling can never be experienced here in any way.
Secondly, N300 has really got me hooked plus the bike is really good as well (after reading numerous reviews and blogs). Also i would never want to invest anyting above 3 or 4 lac on a bike. So basically i am happy with bikes in the 250cc-400 cc range. I am more of a tourer and so i do expect a decent mileage giving bike.
As for the Dukes, they are really good, but i am hoping that they launch a faired bike with a 250-300cc mill. I know a faired 390 is ready for launch by early next year and i also read about a RC250 being developed on the lines of RC8 for India. Hope it does come true as the bike looked way awesome.
So N300 for now

andy118: if u taking the NH4 (mumbai pune vaiee panchgani route) then road till Vaiee is good barring certain bad patches in between (watch out for those sumdee hard to see from afar potholes on this route... A high speed hit on a few of these n ur alloy rim is sure to get deformed) But if u taking the mumbai wadkhal poladpur mahabaleshwar route, u must be inhuman & only inference that can be drawn is u hate ur bike do not venture on this route atleast till end of October...

i was there on last sunday and scenic beauty was just awesome. Rainy season is gone already, but the road condition is not so good but in riding condition. try to start the journey as early as possible in the morning then you wont get traffic and also try to witness the sunrise, and nature at its best during the time span of 6.30 am to 9 am, and its the best time to enjoy fresh landscapes..

@kfz16 : a slight correction.
rain is on a pause mode... ganeshotsav > pitru paksha of 15 days > navratra & vijaya-dashmi [dussera] is the flow
rains are termed officially over, only AFTER vijaya-dashmi
you may expect some heavy rainfall during the evenings between 1st oct thru 13th october [no, i dont work w/ the M.E.T. - this is pure simple mathematics & almanac reading - taught to us by fathers & forefathers when guys my age were kids]

DeVille : ha ha ha! long story short... going by mathematics & the almanac... the last nakshatra of monsoon is the 'hasta' nakshatra... it usually is over by vijaya-dashmi - hence the monsoon is officially over in about 3~4 days thereafter. its also the time when kids & grownups [me] are most vulnerable to common cold / cough / viral fevers / etc. since the transition from monsoon to a severely humid & hot period begins... the dreaded october heat!
