Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
Hey folks!
This is my first reply to this thread (I have introduced myself here: https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/who-you...vi-mumbai.html)
Is there any specific channel where upcoming meetups and/or rides are posted? Or I should keep checking this thread?

Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
Hi everyone, this is my first post to this thread.
I'm new to the city of dreams and lived in Ahmednagar, Pune & Nashik before. I own a FZ25 on which a small modification is done; I've installed a Pulsar AS windshield on it. Because of which I had to remove the front reg. number plate and instead I put a sticker on front mud guard(it is well legible). Is it allowed to do so or the number plate is compulsory? Waiting for replies from fellow riders.
P.S. I live in Powai and work in General Mills, Hiranandani. Count me in for weekend rides/meet ups!

Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
Hello Riders,
I'm planning to go on a ride in the month of August. Dates ( 11th - 15th August). It's a long weekend, if you apply for leaves on 13th -14th August.
IS anyone planning for any rider during this time? I have started searching for a destination, but haven't finalized anything yet. Don't want to go to the regular locations around Mumbai. Looking for some other places to explore. Will be much obliged if you all can give some inputs.
If anyone wants to join in, please let me know.
Ideas / Suggestions most welcome.

Regards,
Siddhesh.

Re: The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
We the Mumbaikars live an extraordinarily fast life from Monday to Friday. Running between offices and train stations.
We do deserve some romantic time with our bikes once a week “atleast” but many times the plan is perfect but no one arrives on the day due to some or the order reasons; wife, kids, extra office hours, marriage, birthday, etc,etc and our bike just stays in the garage and parking lot waiting for us to take her somewhere far away from the noise of the city.
Here’s where this group comes to your rescue.
The sole purpose of creating this group is to plan weekend trips or 1 or 2 days and getting the feel of love towards riding your motorcycle.
This group is not limited to any specific brand of motorcycles but to promote team spirit and brotherhood among the riders of Mumbai.
We as family can meet, celebrate birthdays or promotions, hell even the celebration of buying your new bike.
I mean why not?
Forgot those college days when our friend scored 1 mark more than us and had to give party to everyone?
Or that day when our crush said Hi for the first time?
Well I remember the day when I got my crush’s number and had to burn my pocket for the grand party my friends took me to..!!
In our fast lives we need to slow down a bit, pull the clutch and zoom far away on those highways.
Share the group link and make this group a big family.
Let’s bring Riders of Mumbai to this family. [emoji965]❤️[emoji922]

Hey Aatif so good to see you here. The solitary post after a long time was worth it. I’m doing well, hope you doing good too.
Riding isn’t that regular as in 2012-14 period but I do end up with a couple of long rides almost every year.
After our Mumbai – Leh – Mumbai in 2012, I rode to Spiti in 2014, Zanskar/Leh in 2015 and Leh with wife as pillion last year all on my same old 2009 Fz16. Couldn’t ever get enough of the mountains and I keep missing all of you guys whenever I crossed those high passes of Rohtang/Tanglangla/Baralachla.
Apart from these, I did a couple of solo rides to South India and a ride with Yuvi (Aniket) to Gujarat LROK in 2014.
Last long ride was this January covering Jaisalmer-Udaipur-GROK on CBR250 and soon planning for Bhutan/Northeast ride by end of this year.
Let’s catch up sometime, it would be great to ride together again. I’ll probably be able to coordinate with our old pals and plan a short inter-state ride.
I’m so tempted to consider Mumbai-Leh-Mumbai again this year as per your plan but that looks very challenging for now. But do keep me updated. Will PM you my No. in case you don’t have it already.

I had bought a couple of disk locks online few years back and they served their purpose decently well. Xena is good but does cost a lot. Try Crossroad the biker shop in Mira road, they have good quality stuff.Originally posted by ravihpa View PostHey guys,
I stay at Ambernath/Thane/Mumbai, and I'm trying to find a place (online or offline), where I can get a decent disc lock. The ones available online seem total shit and they're not even worth investing into. The research I've done so far says Xena is of really good quality.
Do you guys have any idea where I can get a decent selection of disc brake locks in Mumbai? I visited Sunshine Auto in Thane, and they don't have any disc brake locks.
Help me get that little more peace of mind
Thanx a lot in advance for all the help
Edit: Lol, I have no idea why they would even put my thread here in this Mumbai Meet thread, when it's clearly an accessories post and was posted in the right section of the forums. Nonetheless, even if it was out of place, I don't think it belongs here :P
If you are interested to get it locally, Grant road (balaram street) is a good bet albeit quite far away from Ambernath.
Try a combination of Fork lock + basic disk lock + decent alarm system (all within 4-5 k) for absoulte peace of mind
I travel quite a bit on remote areas with unsafe parking and following comination has always worked for me
1. Sturdy metal chain with good old Godrej lock (7 levers lock which is alternatively used for hotel room locks for the duration of stay) on the rear wheel
2. Helmet lock cable on front wheel
3. Basic front Disk lock sometimes if I'm feeling unlucky
4. Handle lock ofcourse
Welcome to Mumbai, I know a very good Yamaha mechanic who has been personally servicing my FZ16 for 8 years now. Not much in touch nowadays as I ride CBR250 often and FZ doesn't need much maintenance anyway. Will PM you his number, see if he can do it for you or recommend any alternativesOriginally posted by Rx87 View PostHello all. am shifting from chennai to Mumbai for long term. And I'll be staying in vashi. Am bringing my RX along with me. Am looking for a good mechanic to whom I can give my Rx 100 for service . I have a 1987 model RX 100. Am looking for a mechanic who knows about yamaha and to be fair enough in pricing.
Sad but I guess true. It was very different once upon a time. Anyway, times changeOriginally posted by Manan View PostHahah people only seem to raise questions here and there are always no answers, what a proper bombay attitude.
Perhaps. Do we have a Mumbai XBHP Whatsapp group ?? I would so like to join if the real discussion are happening there.Originally posted by Fazer89 View PostAll thanks to whatsapp groups !!
I and few friends do Breakfast rides once or twice every month with the usual locations being Lonavala, Igatpuri, Manor with total round distance trip 150-250 kms.Originally posted by mustu588 View PostIs there any bike rides coming soon?
or
are there people who ride on Sundays?
You are welcome to join. Usually, this is how it goes:
1. Early morning meet (before 6) at outskirts of Mumbai (Ghodbunder/Panvel/Thane toll etc)
2. Quick dash without breaks to the breakfast point and quick return post leisurely breakfast. Back home by 10-11 am
3. ATGATT followed
will PM you the number of my mech. My 1st gen Yamaha FZ (currently close to 90K kms) is serviced only by him. Pretty reasonable and does the job at your preferred location but only on weekends as he has a full time mechanic job elsewhere.Originally posted by devenpd View PostHi Guys,
Can someone help me with a good reliable yamaha mechanic/garage around Goregaon East area?
I own a 1st gen Yamaha fz16.
Thanks,
Deven
