    • ^^looks cool.. what is this place?
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

          • Yana caves are located in the Sahyadri forests at about 25km from the town of Kumta in the south Indian state of Karnataka. These caves are made of black crystalline limestone. In the midst of the forest two peaks can be noticed. The one in picture here is called the Mohini Shikara (height=90 metres). The other peak called Bhairaveshwara Shikara is about 120 metres tall.

            • Yana is a nice place. I'd suggest you guys take the NH4 to Hubli, then go past Yellapur to Sirsi. Fantastic road, with lots of twisties and sights along the way. It'll be about 700 kms through this route.

Don't let people's imagination run too wild else they will start correlating Yana caves with that Yana only.

Not much. I'd say about 30 kms from Sirsi. I crossed the turn off to Yana Caves while going to Bennehole Falls on the Kumta road.

You mean you crossed through Sirsi right?

@razor: Don't waste your time going to Jog. There's nothing there at the best of times. It's beauty is decided by the Linganamakki Dam Authority, which releases water based on the reservoir level. THere are PLENTY of other waterfalls and other sights in the area, go there. I will give you a list if interested.
