Ketan had some plans for sat/sun. He will be posting I guess. If that won't happen there are 2 confirmed riders for Murud/Janjira on Sunday. Saturday I need to pamper my babe .

Guys, Murud on these kinda hot & dry days (Not that wala DRY-DAY) will be a foolish act. Its burning out there... Ishhhhh!!!

So lets ride to some Pahadi, ghati, bole toh some higher altitude;
or lets just go out to Diveagar n Chill-Our there
or KETAN tell us ur plan, FAST...

Lets Ride on Sat evening, halt at the destination, aur apna Mid-Night Masala
Sight seeing on Sunday morning n back by evening.

My Choice of Destination: Bhandardara : It will be cool, gree, clean n full of breezing atmosphere.

this is my earlier post in which I had posted my plan with the route..may be not the kinda ride you are lookin for.. but this is what I was planning to do.. As I said, I'll confirm my presence for any of the rides being planned by this evening..

Last Sunday I was quite sure for the Malshej Ride but couldn't join due to some reason. My friend wanted a ride desperately but he didnt want to ride to Malshej. So we planned a big one. I'll post the details soon. But night before the ride, his bike's headlights showed some probs. They would start properly but after some time they used to flicker and turn off. So riding in the dark was out of the equation. That's we postponed the ride and had called off all the plans. But then couldn't stay back home. I was running short on money but still managed somehow and decided to visit Amby for a Sunrise photo shoot :P

Was watching Wake up Sid till late night.. Slept for just half n hour or so and woke up at 4 am. Got ready and left home at sharp 4.30 am. Didnt feel the cold till we reached Palm beach road but there after the cold temp was just killing. At panvel JNPT things were even bad. It was freaking cold. Couldn't resist a tea break and had 2 cups of tea each on NH4.

Ride was very short and therefore reached home by 11-11.30 am. Amby was relatively less crowded. May be because we had left too early. Nice fun. Palm Beach road between 4.30-5 am is like any biker's Dream road to rip on. Seriously.. You can take your bike to it's limit and still the road doesn't end. Superb. My next fav road after NH17 is Palm Beach Road

To talk bout the postponed ride..

Many of the Mumbai xbhpians must have done this route. Even I have done it past but since I was quite bored of riding to the same places again and again and also because I can't afford any over night rides now, this route sounded fine to me.

Mumbai - Panvel - Pune - Wai - Panchgani - Mahabaleshwar(The main destination. Spend some time. Do some TP. Have strawberry milkshakes n all) - Via Pratapgadh - Poladpur(on NH17) - Mahad - Panvel - Mumbai.

We are thinking of doing this ride on next Sat or Sun But nothin's fixed as yet. Main funda is to enjoy the roads. Rip hard on NH4 and enjoy the NH17's twisties. If we fix the date then I'll post it on the forum for sure. Everyone's invited to join. The more the merrier! Any suggestions are more than welcome

Well, too long! I want a short max 300 kms. ride to n fro. (can be extended 50 more kms.)

MB will be around 600+ kms. & I want to leave on Sat Evening.

LEAVE IT, Lets just do a Sunday Morning Ride. Its been a long tym since the Normal xbhp style Sunday morning g2g happened in Mumbai.

How about Uran? I'v never been there... Ketan or anyone got any idea abt the place?

If you want something really different and enjoyable, take a trip along NH3 upto Jawhar phata [9km before Igatpuri]. Turn left here and keep going. About 3km along the way comes Vihigaon with its magnificent waterfall [75m and broad]. From here, walk the rest of the way along the road which is in a dense forest along a gorge on the Vaitarna river. There are millions of waterfalls, small and big, umpteen wildflowers, not a soul in sight apart from the odd villager, its paradise on earth. You will come across a beautiful mini Niagara Falls, cut through the forest [may be slippery] and walk along the edge [be careful - one slip leads to oblivion]. When you have had your fill, walk upto the old British stone bridge. The road continues with many delightful peaceful spots all the way upto Khodala. The minus point. All this is going to disappear very shortly in the Middle Vaitarna Dam project. Right now in the dry season it is possible to see all the potholes along the gorge, and also to walk along the rim of the gorge for quite a good way. It is pleasant uptil around 11am. The area is pristine as there are no tourists ever. Food available at dhabas on the highway.
