I dont know who decides whether to send the rider home or to take them along the trip. But seriously, "we send them home" ? lolz, feels as if its a school picnic, "you have not come in proper uniform, go back home" lolz, and the rider will be like "ok sir" and what does he do going back home? sleep? im not that kinda guy boss, you ask me to "go home" (for not having knee guards and elbow guards) and i plan my own solo trip.
    No offence or hard feelings.

I wish if this was the reply for my post rather than the replies i actually got. People are counting me in such a category who think safety is an option. One cant judge a person especially when he/she doesnt know me well.

All members in Pune clan are aware of this rule - No gear, No ride.

There are no senior or junior members as such so anyone found with no gears - Bye bye!!! I have personally sent members home, here seniority or post count doesn't matter, Maturity does!

Besides, Rides are like picnic, the difference is that, in school your teacher looks after you, here you are responsible for your mess.

No offence or hard feelings either buddy.

@VIKS - This is how Pune members react for such safety gear situations, I do not know if Mumbai has the same attitude or not. As mentioned by Whymail, you can always borrow from your friends, the ones not coming for the ride or with extra spare ones.

      All the best buddy!!!

@vicks : chill bro, you always have the option of bionic knee and elbow guards (as whymail correctly suggested). You can ask for them

So your problem of dizziness will be solved.

But rest assured, all the rules mentioned on the first page 1 of this thread do apply. Its for your own good. And I am not being dictator here. Don't be so adamant in saying that I don't want riding gear or else I won't ride with you. There are options available. Its a friendly advise. No offence intended from my side

Thanks for the advice bro, i will surely try to source the gears, And my point is that the advice you and whymail gave was professional and at the same time friendly, i wish if others would have given such a solution to my issue rather than just criticizing. And yes, im not at all adamant, i will try my level best to source the gears, its nothing like "I will not wear gears, take me along or not" i know there lies a thin line between being egoistic and being right. And i know that line very well.

They are the part of your whole riding gear. But elbow and knee guards are also as important as gloves and shoes. Because your knees, elbows and shoulders are the first impact areas in most of the crashes. And of course, helmet being the topmost priority. And actually speaking, give yourself as much protection as you can. Though it won't make you immortal

                P. S. :- please do give your best attempt in arranging gears. Bionic elbow and knee guards can never give you as much safety as a riding jacket. But something is better than nothing. I will also see, whether I can arrange a pair of guards for you.

Actually that post was for Eshan as he said "No gears, no ride"
So just wanted a little clarification from him,
nevertheless, hasankakal is ready to give me his elbow guards, will search for knee guards as well and pm me if you find a pair. And thanks for the help and support. THIS is what i was looking out for.

Btw, here is a fun fact Viks and those who believe not wearing a jacket would aid performance.
What not wearing a jacket would essentially do is this, it will make you sweat, and the wind will actually blow away the sweat, and the heat will make you sweat, and the wind will blow it away, and the heat will make you sweat and the wind will blow it away and so on till your body is low on 'water'.
So essentially this would mean you would dehydrate faster and your muscles would cramp up.
Which could mean a range of things from crashes to complete tiredness to stroke to we having a ball of a time during the night, while you are tired to even participate!

What a jacket does (apart from keeping you safe from spills) is slow down the process and cool your body while retaining sweat/moisture.

PS: This is also why a mesh jacket tires you at times... but a ventilated tex/leather doesnt.

                    Edit:
Eshan, we do follow the same rule in Mumbai. No gear. No Ride. That rule came into play (and got reinforced) thanks to a very old joint discussion between the Pune and Mumbai clan. I doubt any other city including xBhp land has this diktat

Edit 2: No Acid spewing here, just busting a common myth that many have!

@ vicks / hasan / saurabh / eshan / sachin & almost everyone who is jumping the gun on this thread... just one humble request... STEP BACK :-)

                      1. Everybody knows the rules & can read them too.

                      2. Safety of every member is as much a prerogative of that individual as much as it is of the group. The comment that 'u clean ur own mess' is completely wrong & unreasonable. If that is the case why ride as a group? Merely to consume alcohol & create a public nuisance once u reach the destination? No sir... riding in a group is all about being fellow-men (& not followers), to demonstrate the virtue of responsible riding & to show empathy towards other riders.

                      3. Riding rules are made for safety of humans. But let's not be a snob by saying things like 'if this, then that...' That's like saying 'baap dikhaa... warnaa shraadh kar.'

                      4. A responsible rider always cares & looks out for the fastest & the slowest rider in the group & works his own pattern around that, so that the entire group reaches the destination (& home) safe. If anybody amongst us feels otherwise, probably I am in company of the wrong folks.

                      5. All other folks have been kind enough to lend their gear to those who don't have any (that includes me...) I've taken up riding in a group after decades of riding solo. And I acknowledge the rules & have enough sense to understand what's good for me n what's not. So the correct guidance perhaps should have been on recommending a workaround instead of acid responses :-)

                      6. Acid responses are the quickest means of showing how stupid we are & even worst, permanently discouraging that rider to ride in the group again ever... not worth it ;-)

                      7. Our onus should be on enjoying what we are about to do & not to prove anything else to anyone.

I guess we all are in agreement to the above.

Am glad that the matter stands resolved now.

My participation is not confirmed yet, though I've arranged for a borrowed pair of arm & leg bionics that do qualify me for rule compliance.

                      'Nuff said :-)

@whymail, from the reviews I read, it seems to be a good 8-9 hours of drive, not sure about the time taken on bikes. And I totally feel exhausted just by thinking about it. Moreover, it's too far (anything above 200 kms) for my parents to allow me to ride on bike. (Family pressure, hope you understand :P)

Also, does this group have a whatsapp group? Or can someone make one?
