So after observing the posts on this G2G for a few days, I was still not sure if I should go....Various thoughts kept crossing my mind- "I still haven't bought a new pair of gloves" "Will the AC to DC conversion on my bike be complete in time?" and the most worrisome- "My God, I'll have to wake up before 4:30 am!!"
And then last Tuesday, something struck me while I was going through the morose office routine at my desk-"What the f*** am I pondering on? This is the only thing that makes me forget almost every annoyance and catastrophe in life- Riding!!" Right there, between following up for jobs and taking client's calls, I made my decision."It's gonna be now or never, it IS now!"
Suddenly, there was a spring in my step.."Now let's cheerfully add our names (me and the better half) to that list that's going around...aah, it's gonna be a great feeling!". But, some piled up work got me delayed and I postponed it to next day.
Wednesday arrives."Main agenda for today is to make that post on the G2G thread" I keep telling myself all through the day. In the evening, as I'm about to leave office a very close friend calls,
"Kitne baje ghar pohchega?"
Why, I inquire.
" Had to come over to your place, woh maine bataya tha last week- about my wedding...."
"Er, so you gonna pop up at my place with the invitation?!?"
"You b@$^&#%, don't' you dare shock my parents, they have no clue...I'll reach home and call you, hold on"
I get to my colony and call him and start showering choicest abuses- "Saale, I thought your marriage was gonna take time...now if you turn up, my folks will raise questions about my marriage!!"
"Arrey, was just gonna tell you last week, par time hi nahi mila...you're never at home, so thought I'll come directly and hand the card to your folks. Wedding is next month, you can come right?"
"Haan, I'll come, when is it?"
"11th May"
"Ok....yada yada yada...WAIT, WHAT is the date again??"
"11th re, Saturday, tension msf4r.34tt4.3fdgds......."

Post that I only remember ambling to my place and wondering what hit me. I now have one more reason to detest this institution of matrimony...So, right now I'm prayin for miracles that the pandit postpones the marriage citing celestial reasons. In the unlikely event, would it be possible to accomodate an extra rider, if I confirm on 10th?

lol I can correlate the feelings... dunno about others but I.m.h.o. u confirming a day prior, as an exceptional case, shud not be too much of a fuss. the only impact it may have, will be on the accommodation, which am sure, the owner of the place we gonna tank at, shall gladly oblige & comply to. till such moment that u confirm the rest of the gang may assume u r not coming I reckon that shud not hurt much
but again saurabh, sachin & co. needs to confirm on this since they r interacting w/ the guy who runs that place...
