I will try to make it as i have never been to Sula Vineyards yet. My only concern is getting my bike serviced on time as im riding this weekend from Mumbai - Chiplun - Kumbharli- karad- Pune- Lonavla. So my bike has to go in for a service and i missed d Velneshwar ride so i gotta do this ride to cure my itch to ride on NH 17 after a long time. Hope to make it.

What about the usual suspects saurabh, kiran and the others. They seem to be missing.

ah! u taking the same route that we all did during the velneshwar trip - hopefully the heat will be bearable than what it was back then.
other usual guys r prolly too busy minting money! am certain they will chip-in when they bump-in on the forum tonight.
convincing our respective wives to 'let go' of us for a day might not be much of a problem for most 8-)

I wanted to make up for missing out on the Velneshwar ride. Hence this ride. Plus also wanted to go to Lonavla with friends so will end day 1 at Lonavla and party at night nd then returning next day. How are the Road conditions. Any specific things i should or should not do on this route??

                  the road throughout is good.
only let-down for us was, we had to navigate thru insane traffic till wadkhal [due to road widening happening @ 2~3 locations] & then near mangaon [due to a lorry going ka-putt on the highway] - but thereafter it was takka-takk!
kashedi ghats & bhoste ghats are a joy to ride in.
kumbharli is awesomeness personified - every turn will put a wide grin on ur face - i assure u that.
road on the karhad > satara > pune stretch is flawless.
just be advised about the insane traffic between satara & pune or rather satara > pune > hinjewadi.
we hit this patch in peak traffic & i felt as if i were riding from thane to andheri on a monday morning - it was that crowded!
just avoid the peak office / rush hour & everything else is absolute joy! ;-)
                  ride safe mitra.
                  have fun! B-)

yeah man... we were having our lunch @ a dhaba between satara > pune at around 4.
we started off from wadgaon dehu road exit toll at around 5.30 [thanks to me getting stuck in traffic jam @ hinjewadi - all the guys were kindly waiting for me @ the toll]
we had yet another halt @ the kamat's green house khandala by 6.20 & from there onwards we split up & made a dash to our homes.
u were ahead of us by several hours...

Thats quite late. I had to face a road block just before Satara and then take a diversion of 50 kms after which i rejoi ed NH 4 only to learn that the tunnel was blocked hence had to Drive on the wrong side of the road while going downhill on the Katraj ghat. Going by your descriptio , you faced the same traffic but only after it had gotten worse.

On the way to velneshwar, i liked the traffic a little bit (i like it when i can wade thru it with ease, and a little offroading )
While returning, before kumbharli ghat, dont exactly know the name of the place though, some lady was TRYING to drive a car which caused almost more than a kilometer of traffic jam.
But waded thru the traffic jam, took some remnants of gravel on the face thanks to some tar work going on the road.
And then felt jannat a.k.a kumbharli ghat riding, i bet any true rider would definitely choose those ghat curves than that of a hot chic's
Then super dangerous wind bursts, my impulse was unable to cross 98Kmph which was doing 110kmph otherwise, hence it was NH4.
                              In all, it was great.
