Let me know if this is doable.
Why dont we leave Abu aside (better to go ther wid ur GFsOriginally posted by satyenpoojary View PostSo it makes sense if we chnage the plan to
udaipur>Alwar>Jaisalmer>Mt Abu>Home!
) & do only Udaipur, Jaisalmer & Jodhpur... makes sense to me. We'll get to the places very fast (via superb highways) & will get more time to chill-out n sight seeing.
Alwar is too long from these places, no point wasting time riding so long n seeing nothing.
Abu will be a bit off-route too & we'll waste a lot of time riding up & down back from Abu. Ghats are of about 22 kms. one way, very tricky & narrow.
I might JOIN-IN too, 70% IN...
will confirm by 21st DEC.
Leaving on 8th night & coming on 10th eve via flightsOriginally posted by cosgeo99 View Post@Spidy: Also bro what bout the AutoExpo plan.Last edited by spiderweb; 12-04-2009, 05:55 PM.

Visit to IMS-Vikrant
Err... Am I breaking the chain? Everyone's discussing bout the future rides and coming weekend's plans..
My bad.. I'll be stuck at home for next couple of weeks atleast...

Anyways.. the purpose of disturbing the discussion is, to let my friends know that I alongwith Velociraptor and one of his friends - Jayesh - had been to the INS - Vikrant museum today..
A very nice experience.
I wanted to see that ship since very long time but never got the chance. Then I heard Veloci discussing bout the visit and I was game as it was fitting in my schedule.
Went there this morning. Reaching there was a bit of a problem.. and we also didn't take our bikes fearing no parking space but there was ample parking space..
The visiting charge of Rs.25/- is paisa wasool and one can easily spend an hour or more on the ship. When we reached there, plenty of schools had reached there with lotsa childern..
I think Veloci will tell more bout it..

Anyways, posting very few pics of the ship.. Nothing extra ordinary but certainly gives an idea of how things must have been between 1945 and 1997
Definitely worth a visit. Very well maintained.
Just a few words bout the ship..
INS Vikrant(formerly HMS Hercules) was a Majestic-class light aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy.
Her keel was laid down on 12 November 1943 by Vickers-Armstrong on the Tyne and she was launched on 22 September 1945.
Vikrant was India's only carrier for over twenty years, but by the early 1990s she was effectively out of service because of her poor condition. Even following major overhauls she was rarely put to sea. She was formally decommissioned on 31 January 1997 and is preserved as a museum at Mumbai. She is the only World War II-era British-built aircraft carrier to be preserved as a museum.
