Haa re, but then I did some 1450 kms recently on the bike and the chain seems to be loose again! Will go and get it checked tomorrow/day after types.

14 bikes on a single ride would had been great. But the 14 would have been half when you consider people coming from Mumbai and Pune.

Wanted to reach home in the morning half itself and I was confident of not doing so if I rode to Malshej.

Lastly, malshej is a location to be visiting in rains; not in hot weather so had posted on the first day itself about not joining the ride.

Why didn't you all come down to Amby? Would had been fun.

Arre I would have called you up but then you usually have your late night parties on Saturday and you don't like to wake up early morning on Sunday. Hence thought you anyway won't come for the ride. Or else would have definitely called you up. In fact I was alone at Panvel Mcd for more than 45 mins.

^+1 I Ask this to the non attending initiator of the G2G. Anyways I did'nt have contact no.s of even one of the Mumbai members who eventually came to Malshej, I couldn't have changed the plan last minute.

Sharing a few Pix of Sunday's Amby Ride

In my earlier post I wrote the ride was 'nice' and 'eventful'. Here's why I said so..

The meet up point was as usual(Panvel McD) and the time was 6 am. I was supposed to meet lonelyrider and Abhi(MBC) there. But just as I reached Sion, I got Mandar's call saying he's bike's rear tyre had a puncture near Airoli bridge and he was pushing his bike in search of a puncture repair shop. What it meant was DELAY He asked me to carry on and reach Panvel McD and give him a call to know the repair status.

I was then riding on Palm beach road. It was dark and at around 6 am the street lights were turned off As I was passing by the lake near Nerul, all of sudden I saw a big wall in front of me lit up by my bike's HID. A big wall of insects, bees or I don't know what and I went straight into it.. I felt as if I was getting hit by paint balls on my jacket, helmet and arms.. Those insects were that big.. My helmet's visor was covered with all the dead insects.

A little ahead, just before the end of Palm beach road, I was riding in the fast lane at around 80-90 kmph and there was a Hero Honda Hunk rider ahead of me-approx 200 Mts. There was a dead dog right in the middle of the fast lane. I don't know if the Hunk rider couldn't see the dog or what exactly happened but all I could see was he hit the dead dog and crashed. He and his bike skidded for almost 100 ft before stopping. It was a horrible sight. I pulled over to the shoulder of the road and rushed towards him. Picked his bike up and asked him "Are you fine?" He couldn't say a single word but shiver with shock. Quite understandable. I calmed him down and asked him again if he's ok. Only then he said yes yes.. A bit of damage to his bike's left hand side,a torn shirt, scratches on his cell phone and a badly damaged chin because he was wearing a half face helmet. All this because of a dead dog in the fast lane and a little lack of concentration from the rider. phewww...

I couldn't go beyond 50 Kmph after that incident. Was scared a bit.
Called up Mandar after reaching Panvel and he said it'll take some time to get the bike fixed. He asked me to carry on towards Lonavala and that they will catch up with me. But I told him I'll wait for sometime and then leave.

Had a small breakfast at McD and couple of cigarettes outside during those 40-45 mins of wait. Again talked to Mandar and he said he'll leave in next 10 mins or so. Heat was building up and I had no choice but to set the wheels in motion. Lonelyrider made me ride Alone.. Grrrr...

Saw a lot of bikers on the way to Lonavala. It was a nice relaxed ride. Vishwas and guys were already there at RK and I had no problem finding them after seeing their Ninjas Mandar and Abhi too reached after sometime. A bit of chit chat at RK and then Pune guys left for Pune while we left for a quick lap of Amby circuit No need to repeat how bad the roads have become at Amby except a few patches where one can enjoy cornering.

We were forced to stop near Lion's point along with rest of the cars because there was an Ad shoot going on of an hair oil product Asked the guy who stopped us to click a few pics for us and it seemed he loved clicking.. He simply went on clicking from every angle.. We had to stop him saying.. bhai hamara ad shoot nahi karna hai.. unka karna hai..









Rode all the way till Amby city's entrance. Took a break, a bit of chatting and the ride in the opposite direction.







There's beautiful and pleasant greenery all along the amby route but couldn't click much because of time constraint and riding gear.



Refueled after reaching Lonavala, a short cold drink cum sutta break and rode non stop till IRB Toll naka near Panvel. Later on a non stop ride till Vashi before the group split up and went to their respective destinations. A nice Sunday morning crash-free ride with buddies. Thanks Mandar and Abhi for the great company

^^^ Are you sure that Hunk's battery breather pipe was not the reason for crash? We have heard of battery breather pipes tangling with rear wheel making rider crash. Beware of Battery breather pipes.
