Hi Sid, Yes I was there.... had to collect a rear tyre for my bike... I was the last to leave the shop as well, and he did tell me that some 'sid' took a cross lid..
I met another member there who had ordered a Mesh jacket from DSG there.... forgot his name and ID too..

Poor chap has a tough time with everyone saying that they are coming from xBHP and expects a fat discount!

Newbees, if this is your first major group ride then please tag along with a senior rider .. make smaller groups and play upto yout abilities, dont be overwhelmed by others abilities on the ghats....!

The idea is to have fun, and have a great time!

Any of u guys got anything planned up for the december-mid? I am not sure if I will be allowed in anycase. I do not have the requisites for a tour viz. no knee pags, elbow guards and a biker jacket. But if anyone does plan for an "unofficial" tour then please do inform me of the same.

Those mandates are for your safety, and as mentioned earlier an 'unofficial' ride or a FB ride, or a xyz.com ride doesnt really save you.... but riding gears usually do!

Lot of time for december, save up... or make new friends who would lend you the gear!

how much do they cost anyways? the cheapest ones (and safe enough). Are these available on rentals? It's just that I go out touring once in 4 - 5 months and then it really doesn't seem logical to have these with you. I did not mean to undermine the importance of the gear but it is almost (but not) useless to me. I would take it on rent if it is available.

Never mind. I checked the prices. It would cost me about 10K to get rest of the missing gear. It simply is not affordable to me for a ride or two at max. Probably, when I do get back (after 3yrs or so) to riding then at that time I will keep in mind to get these first. Thanks nevertheless.

How often are these g2g's ? i am new to xbhp,but i have been going throught the forums for about a year now.Read through the safety norms.I have a AGV Full face,DSG gloves riding gears.Will be good to meet fellow xbhp members.
I have 20k kms Old Karizma R(2008).

Spidy, I appreciate the concern you expressed and I want to make a point that I totally agree to the "ride safe" idea. But seriously, I am probably going to make only one trip which is feasible only in December. And, buying 10K worth of gear for one trip is ...ummm >> ?? If it was available on rentals then I would definitely pay for it. I will compensate on speed instead, that will guarantee an extra bit of safety.
