The Official Mumbai Offline Meet(G2G) Thread

Hi guys,
Me and some office buddies are planning to ride to ganpatiphule. Might be this weekend or next. Just wanted to know ....
1.)Which is the best route(wrt distance and road conditions)
2.)How is the accommodation(would be great if anyone can provide specific contact details)
3.)What places to visit in ganpatiphule.

Mumbai to ganpatipule in a day is not for new tourers. the rider must have prior experience of at least 150+ Kms in a day.

route :
1. via pune : comfortable, straight roads, just one ghat. not recommended
2. goa highway. best of ghats Maharashtra has to offer. excellent food and scenery

Accommodation : lots of hotels, MTDC is recommended. you can find phone nos online. google ganpatipule hotels.
find MTDc details on mtdc website.

places to visit : for 2 day ride, just beach and the temple. maybe Ayurvedic massage at MTDC.

If you plan to leave on 20th sat morning, you can ride with Velneshwar gang.

@ashish :start putting up the velneshwar confirmation list.I have also asked a few pune members & waiting for their reply

@manas:you can do ganpatipule easily.leave early to reach before sunset.NH 17 not the best route but better than pune.
mtdc might be full ,than you can try morya which is located on left as soon as you enter ganpatipule.
it's a holy place so booze will be a big issue if at all on your agenda.

@motionfreak, my touring experience is limited compared to most guys here, but have already done 300+ kms (both ways - alibaug, malshej) tours so I don't think ganpatiphule would be a problem

About riding with Velneshwar gang, most of the guys at my office(unlike me) don't tour with proper riding gear, so I am not too sure about that. Date is not yet fixed so if we are not going this weekend, I might even ride along with you guys to velneshwar. Thanks for sharing.

@dk bhau, NH 17 sounds goods, and will keep morya as backup. Booze will be an issue lets c. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thats Cool..mostly would ride at around 11-12 pm..
