My first ever travelogue- Please pardon my mistakes.

So I woke up at 5.30ish, with my mom screaming at me. I was supposed to get up at 4.30 in order to meet up the group by 5.30, turns out, I had switched off my phone accidentally. Anyways, with a late start, called up Pritesh and informed him that I will meet them at the toll. I reached there by 6, and was the first one to reach. After 10 minutes, Pritesh, Mark bhaiya, Shabby bhaiya and Akshat arrived, followed by Barun Da, Subhajit Da, Sumeet and Debdeep in another half and hour. After some warm greetings and a mini photoshoot session, we left, bidding Akshat goodbye, for our first location, Garchumuk.

We started on NH6 towards Kharagpur, after about 50 kms, we took a left to some SH which I am forgetting. for few Kms, the roads were fine, but in our last stretch, for about 15 kms, there was no tarmac, just potholes! Riding on that road was tiring as hell. But at last we reached our destination. After 2 kms of narrow, but lovely road through a park, we reached a ghat.

But as we have already been to such places quite a few times, thought of skipping it came to each one of us' minds. From there, we rode to the Garchumuk Deer Park. After paying a fee of 30/- per head, we were allowed to ride with our bikes inside the park (ofcourse, the animals were in enclosure). After riding a few meters, we saw some deers, decided to park our bikes there and to take some rest. But we had already seen so many animals in our lives, in zoos and reserves. So instead of taking their pictures, we did not waste the opportunity of being in a forest, unsupervised. Did offroading, dil khol ke! After all the jumping around, we returned to our spot, rested, took some more pictures, and took off after some tasteless breakfast for Gadiara. Sadly, Barun Da couldn't accompany us, as he had some personal task.

Road to Gadiara was like a blessing. Such smooth tarmac, completely shaded with trees. Encountered some corners. Didn't even feel the heat. We reached Gadiara by 11. I wasn't expecting it to be such a beautiful place. I mean, I had seen some pictures on google, but being there was a different experience. We scouted around for a decent place, found one and parked ourselves there. After stretching and taking our gears off, we sat down, started taking pictures and ate some chips (missed you the most Akshat, and your tammy bag ).

At about 12, we left for Kolkata. Inquired about the best route from some rikshawalas, we left. Debdeep had planned to do a photoshoot during our ride back home, so we stopped at a convenient place, there is where the incident took place. Shabby's clutch cable got cut. Thankfully, there was a mechanic nearby, and his bike being a Bajaj, spare was available. After 1 hour, we proceeded for the photoshoot as planned. Did that, and continued back to Kolkata by 2 pm.

After such an eventful day, NH seemed so boring and tiring. There were no shades, and the Sun was at its loudest. As planned, we stopped at Hotel Hindustan for lunch. it was pretty decent for its cost. We all geared up and left by 4 pm for our city. Bidding farewell to Subhajit Da, Sumeet and Debdeep, the other guys headed back to Kona Expressway.

It was, by far, my best experience. Group rides can be a success or a failure. It all depends upon the group members. We ten, had a pretty nice understanding. No one tried out anything smart. And special thanks to Mark bhaiya and Pritesh, for their great leadership. And ya, how can we forget our Vishnu, The Navigator Guy

So, in short, great locations, almost great roads, great corners, and a great group.

Now, lets make the next ride better than this one.
