Enfields that you could be looking for are,
Machismo A350, Electra 4s, Bullet Standard 350 and Thunderbird is not bad option too.

I always advise my friends against iron bloc engines unless they are searching for something that would cost only as a scrap iron and then it undergoes thorough customization to become a custom cruiser.
true about iron blocks and fuel efficiency but still the simplicity and ride quality you get in those bikes with iron blocks are way far beyond comparison. Hope you agree on that. and older enfields have comparatively more resale value than the present engines. And regarding reliability, have you ever seen how well the green army bullets perform even though they are not maintained at all? And less fuel efficiency is because of the airfilter dude. I know a guy using a hero honda airfilter on his dad's bullet since years now and getting mileage around 35 without any trouble. now how muchi more do you want from a 350cc thumper?

I have ridden old school bulls in my school days, and with gearshifts on the right side.To speak truly I really do not like them now, the way I used to then. The less fuel efficiency cannot be only for the air filter, its because of moving heavier machine parts. The aluminium units are more fuel efficient and the air filters on the new bikes are not much different from the oldies.

I do not know about army bulls, but the civil bulls used to crack con-rods when taken for high speed cruise for long. The Army units are always specially made.

However, this is not the thread for all these.

                              • That was an awesome highway G2G ride !!!!

First of all, every biker who embarked on today's ride, I feel the need to thank you all for the exceptional touring spirit and group riding experience each of you imparted on the highway.
A very big thanks to each of you from my side for co-operating and coordinating in every situations like true gentlemen.
We can go a long way together like this.

To me it exactly felt like embarking on a Intergalactic ride with a group adventurous warriors. So I started the day with enthusiasm levels equal to Star Trek

Near airport I met Pranjal and Pratik waiting for the rest of the group,to my awe my ever ready cousin Ayan was already there with his friend. Then Sayan joined in.At Dakshineshwar, after 15 minutes or so of waiting Raneet showed up with Sunny following close behind.A minute later the Avenger 220 showed up with Sujit and his friend in tow.

Sunny Konkal as usual caused us much concern by remaining out of touch till 6.30.

Then 7 bikes moved off in a true blue fashion. We had a very delightful highway ride, with Pranjal wanting to test his Pulsar220 and Raneet losing the tune of his 220
After finding a safe place to halt, we stopped allowing Raneet to tune his bike. I helped him with my screwdriver and my knowledge to tune his carb properly .After setting his tune well, and abit of highway photography we moved off towards Hindusthan Dhaba.

Cruising was absolutely wonderful with four bikes leading the pack in a foursome formation, namely GS150R, two Pulsar220s and a white Karizma.

It felt wonderful riding with Sayan today,he rode very well with us and we had a lot of jokes and light moments together later at the dhaba.I definitely feel that he should join us on every ride and in G2Gs.

At the dhaba, we discovered the funny side of Raneet and over enthusiastic side of Pranjal. All these while waiting for Bappa to join us at the dhaba.
It goes without saying that many bikers wanted to eat as they felt hungry, but I kept waiting for Bappa to arrive and start our breakfast together.Maybe seeing me others felt shy about having food right away
We only finished our chai and was getting n with gossip, when Bappa and Bhaskar arrived in their Karizmas.

Then there was breakfast, group discussion, cracking jokes, merry making, testing each other's bikes, parking the bikes under a tree and Raneet's foiled attempts to pull my leg all the time before leaving for homewards journey.Well I tickled Raneet today and found he can be really tickled

However, the uncle whom Bappa had given his camera to click our Xbhp group photo, kept us waiting in our pose for near to minute in the scorching sun in order to get the perfect picture .God bless the uncle for it
Other than that thanks to Bhaskar for making it easy to pay my share at the food bill by returning my spare change

On our return journey, the enthusiastic Pranjal wanted a piece of 220 performance and have a bit of fun on the highway. The rest of the group being in the safe hands of Bappa, I embarked on guiding Pranjal to ride his Pulsar220 fast but safely. And Pranjal and myself were having our own version of high speed cruising, done very nicely. We had our stops moving up and down,in the closing lap of highway I took Pratik for pillion when Pranjal's fuel reserve did looked very hopeful

I also thank Pratik for clicking some photos on my camera while on the ride.
I hit a top speed of 125kmph today while carrying Pratik as a pillion with Pranjal following me in.

In one word, in today's ride, everyone had his own share of fun.
A video of the ride has also been made by the Avenger 220 rider while going pillion with Bhaskar.I hope to see it here soon.

Very nice ride, very safely ridden and done, the attitude of this biker's group was so near perfect.Right now I am feeling like going on another ride as soon as possible, and this time it would be Azad Hind Dhaba on NH6.
Hope to meet you all soon in a city G2G.Lets keep it up and Gangtok on two-wheels won't be far off now.

Now onto my share of pictures :

                                The day begins

The anxiety follows as we kept waiting for Raneet and Sunny and Sujit to show up.(Crap, I am looking cute instead of manly in this picture )

                                We get rolling.

First Highway halt, Raneet screwing his bike

Sayan asking for lift, and I gave him one in my camera .Sujit showing appreciation and my cousin looks handsome Raneet still screwing his bike (hence,I rushed to tune his carb after this pic )

                                We arrive for our breakfast

The bikes are enduring the heat and cursing us

                                My bike says hello

VIP being guarded by two monsters

                                Return journey, lets roll !!!!

                                Everyone rolls-on

                                Raneet leads, others thinks.......ahem follows

Video session in progress,Bhaskar rides as we show our smile

                                Monstrosity on the highway !!!

The Highway itself........experienced mirage on it today, due to heat and hot dry winds.

Superb ride by far, let's buckle up

                                We would be there again.
Let's Ride Safe, let's keep it up
