Hey guys ! A riders hello to you all.
I am to be in Chennai 15th Feb onwards till 22nd Feb for the California Superbike Schooling Sessions at the Track.

I am an year old to the country and will be very new to Chennai ( first time ever !)

Is there anything that you would wanna give me as a heads up about ? Anything that you think I should know before I make my way to the track ? I know nothing of the language spoken there. Will I come clean with only English on my sleeves ?
How would the weather be in the above mentioned period ?
I am really worried about the heat pangs in a full leather suit :s

You can let any suggestions come my way....Just about anything that you think that a stranger should know.

A good place to stay in the vicinity of the track where my bike wont be stolen is also something that I am looking at still
I am looking at a decent not all too expensive roof as I am already spending my bikes worth for getting myself on the track.

Lastly has anyone ever taken the train route to Chennai from Mumbai/Pune?
I hate flying and I cant sit in a bus for what will look like aeons

P.S. the track sessions are intensive, 7 am to 5 pm. so i wont be having much time to see around places. but is there anything that is a must see in the city of chennai ? I really love temples and stuff and am a big sucker of stuff made of stone and caves. Given that Chennai is one of the oldest cilvilisations i am sure theres much to be found there.
What are the chances of catching up with u guys in person ?

Well, Chennai is hot and humid. But Feb will not be as hot. U can probably expect mid-30's. English should be good. Before that I suggest that you get yourself a map to guide you around. Inside the city or on the highways, you will have enough boards and signs to guide you. Even otherwise people should help you at every traffic signal or petrol bunk. And make sure you carry your original papers. Also carry a recent fuel bill when u were at Pune. Helps you get out of the police. As its an out station vehicle, u can say that u have been riding through as you are allowed to do that.

I think People like WonderBoy/Killer/Joel should help you. Worse comes to worse check Google and Stay inside city. The track is not far off!

Yes, I have been on the route many times. I remember 3 - 4 trains on that route. Pretty straight forward. The Chennai express is the fastest with 24 hours Chennai - Mumbai. So around 20 hours Pune - Chennai. Check www.irctc.co.in

Let us see if any of us can make it. As for me, am not sure. With that practice, transit, heat and stuff ur better off hitting the bed after practice sessions. If u wanna look around there are places on the other end of Chennai - quite far off. Again Google for it!!

kudos to your folks for agreeing to touring plans and paying the extra just so that you can go touring. you can show them my travelogue (1700 kms in 24 hours) but i doubt it would have positive effects

Guys,Its been a week since we last met. From what i understood, there are lots ppl who are interested to alteast visit and check the track. Anybody interested to see the race this sunday ? The entry ticket is 100 bucks and it is very nominal.

So how many in ? Already there are a couple of guys ready for it, if so we can make it there as a group.
