To be honest, all I have now is a good helmet. I can scour the GP road and Thousand lights for some protective gear, but from what I have seen so far, I am not that impressed. If you know any place where they have good gear, please let me know so that I can pick them up tomorrow. I can always get it from the folks at DSG, but its too late for me to head to Bangalore and fetch them now

I completely understand the need for safety while biking, so if I don't meet the required criterion let me know. I will be better prepared for a later ride .

man oh man... been quite a while away from the net...would have missed a trip by now. also my phone started acting weird so not able to take calls properly... got replace with a new one.

@Sunil : welcome to the biking brotherhood. after seeing your say on the route... i would suggest to take the medavakkam route - i think in the early morning hours the roads will be free so no worries abt traffic. will send a message to your mobile.

Ah, thats a bummer! Helmet + Jogging shoes + a rain coat != Protective gear...

I guess I will pass this time.

Here is the list for Sunday's G2G :

Date : 11th July,2010, Sunday

Meetup spot : Alandhur Bus stop (city riders) - This is right after you get down the kathipara flyover.
Crescent engineering college, Vandalur (for those staying in the outskirts)

Time : 5.50 AM for City Riders. 6.30 AM for the Vandaloor Gang.

Destination : Vedanthangal .

Basic Riding gear : Helmet, Jacket, Jeans , Shoes, and if possible Gloves and Armor.

Other Info : Also Carry a Bottle of water of and some light snacks if you are bound to get hungry . We can have breakfast somewhere if needed.

Bike Papers are a must.
We will be riding as a group, so stick to the group riding ettiquette. Pass On signals and Maintain formation. More Info here .

Please Fill up petrol and Air in advance for the trip. Carry spare cables if need be.

Please dont pull any stunts on the road. This is a key factor in group riding. Maintain proper speeds, follow the lead and his signals and pass them on, and you should be fine.

Dinesh will lead and I will Sweep.

Hey Buddy,

Try Dollars and Pounds on Sardar Patel Road, near Liu's Chinese Restaurant - I saw some biking gear there on the first floor. They have jackets, armor, gloves and even pants and boots. I have no idea of the quality though.

I'd suggest a mesh jacket for Chennai if you can get it.
