Sorry if this is OT.

Guys, I'm planning in for a three day trip next weekend (July 3,4,5) to Coorg.
Route Map:

Distance: ~ 600 Kilometers One way.
Route: Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore - Coorg
Now, is it possible to do the trip in 3 days? 2 days for up and down, One day at Coorg for sight seeing. Or should i have one more day to do it with ease?
Need your inputs / suggestions...

Start as early as possible, the earlier you reach lesser traffic you will get while entering Blore and on Mysore road.
Superb roads all the way till Kushalnagar.
From your map I assume you will be staying in Madikeri, do book in advance. Oncoming rains brings tourists to this place.
Since you have only one day for sight seeing, cover all the place in and around Madikeri. Like :-
1. Bhagamandala/Talacauvery
2. Abbey Falls
3. Omkareshwara Temple
4. Raja's Seat
5. Gaddige & Fort/Museum (Nothing great, can be avoided if short on time!)
Enjoy the local cusine! Hope ur a non-vegetarian.
Enroute to Madikeri you just cannot miss the Golden Temple at Bylakuppe. I would advise you to cover it on Day 1 itself, so Day 3 is you have all the energy to ride back.
And lastly to set your expectations, Madikeri is not too high when it comes to altitude. And it really does not have much to offer in terms of scenic beauty compared to some of the other hill stations around. Also this is more of a trekkers destination. Still its a really nice place to spend a chilled out weekend!
EDIT: There is a shortcut from Mysore road (SH 17) directly to SH88, with that you can avoid entering the ring road around Mysore and save about half hour of riding time._________________________

I meant the Mysore ring road. But even to exit Bangalore you need use NICE road. That comes right after you cross electronics city in Bangalore. It will take you straight to Mysore road, except for a slightly confusing break in the road before and after Bannerghatta road.Originally posted by ananth View PostThank You. On Mysore road, you have to take the diversion for Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and continue straight on that road, it will directly connect you at Elivala on Hunsur Road (SH88). Here's the Map!
Regarding weather....well its rains have not started all out, but you most prolly will encounter rains past Hunsur!_________________________

Coorg Trip
Hi Ananth,
A few people from Bangalore (one from Calicut) are planning to go to Coorg on the 18th and 19th of July. They belong to another online forum.
Am planning to go with them. Interested in that option.
Think 2 weeks time we can plan enough and do the advanced reservations etc etc.
Do give in your thoughts.CBZ Xtreme
