Just one question. Why Coorg then?

I would say its useless just to visit the Tibetian Monastry and come back. The rains have come down in the last 2 days. Rains were at 96mm / 112mm when i visited Madikeri and now it is 36mm for the last 24 hours. I would say, take a bet and visit Madikeri.. Stay up near Raja's seat / KSRTC Bus stand. The last 30 kilometers from Bylakuppae to Madikeri would be irritating, but just enjoy the scenic route (not the roads though!)

If you just want to ride, take up Bandipur / Ooty route - it will be definitely worth it. Else, Coorg is an awesome place. Look out for the odd pothole's en route to the Monastry.. be extra careful if its raining, as roads are not that good but still is ridable. And monastry would take atmost an hour or so to cover up. I assume you would start from Bangalore by early morning, you could reach the Monastry by noon, have Coorgi Pork for lunch and head to Abby falls by evening!!

But, all our plans are getting ruined by the rain. Now we have decided it to be a one day dash to Bylakuppae and after and be at Bangy the same day.

BTW, I am riding to Bangy only on the 18th. So Coorg will be done sometime later (may be in August end or September - when the rains ceases in Coorg).

Hmmm.. we would plan accordingly machi.. But why not take a leave from your office? I have virtually planned up for August 14, 15, 16, 17.

Let Manoj come up with the specific dates + the BIG destination he boasts about.. Then we will alter our leaves / schedule our trip.

You mean Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore - Bylakuppae - Mysore - Bangalore in the same day? Not advisable!

Take a break at Bangalore, head to Bylakuppae in the morning and you could reach back Bangalore by night.

It would take atleast 4 hours to reach Bylakuppae from Bangalore, and so plan accordingly. Leave the Mysore Road stretch by around 6 AM and reach back Bangalore by Late Evening.

13 & 14 are my weekly offs and additionally i will get 15. so i have asked for a leave on 16. The thing is like, if i tell my parents that i am going on a trip again they will be .. so i need the 13th to show-up at home and then escape off for the trip..

Some thing near Mysore? How about Mysore Palace

On a serious Note, why not Wayanad?? Its Near Mysore, Around 140 Kilometers.. I think 2 days / 3 nights are enough for wayanad.

Tentative Schedule:

14 - August: Friday: Evening we will start from Mysore, reach Wayanad by Night.

15 & 16 - August: Saturday & Sunday: Spend quality time in Wayanad.

17 - August: Monday: Early Morning we will come back to Mysore, You go back to your School (Infy ) and I will reach Chennai by Evening.

Is that fine?

Thanks! But i hope the roads are great, I mean Mysore - Gundulpet - Wayanad roads are Superb and i dont see any problem with the route
And yeah, any info would be helpful.
