Guys, Does any one know what is the exact procedure to re-register a used bike? A guy popped out of nowhere and wants to buy my bike today itself - downside is he wants to register is today or max tomorrow morning. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Re-register as in transfer ownership from you to the new owner or get a new number on the bike completely?

In the former, its not very difficult. All you have to do is ensure all the paperwork (transfer documents) are filled in and submitted. The process would however take a couple of days due to paperwork and stuff, unless you know someone at the RTO.

Thanks Aditya! There is nothing that money cant do at the RTO, i dont mind losing a few hundred bucks to get the job done the same day.

the transfership if done so fastly might touch the 4digit bribe !! i did it for 1.2 k, for my RX in TN04 (tondiarpet) within 2 days!!and this was in the year 2009 i hope... but the highlight was i din even give any proof and din not even step inside the RTO also :P

Actually the buyer will need to take few autographs of yours in Transfer forms. There is nothing much from your side apart from this.

If you intend to help him, it is better to involve the driving school to get it soon.

Thanks! The day went by, I haven't yet given it off - The bike still stays. I'm heading to Bangalore tomorrow, So Thursday it is mostly, unless the buyer changes his mind!

It would be really nice If I can stay till Sunday. But can not confirm now as Doctor say tomorrow my cousin bro's bandage will be removed. So if everything goes fine then I am leaving to Bangalore tomo night itself. Otherwise I am here. Lets see now.
