The Haveri-Chitradurga stretch is better off, its only about 130 kms! Roads are there for 90% of the stretch, just that you will loose time on the Railway crossings and inside Ranibennur town. NH13 is in a bad state from what I heard about it last, best avoided. Plus that goes through a hotter region!

Guys, I am from pune and planning to do some touring later this month. Has anyone of you have recently driven on this patch -

I intend to do speed run on this patch and can someone help out and let me know whether this road is suitable or not. I wanted to do it on NH4 but have heard that Haveri-Chitradurga patch is in very bad shape so thinking about this alternate route.

dude..i just did that stretch (5th - 7thMarch). I simply went through NH4..guess it was Hubli - Gadag - Hospete - Chitradurga - Tumkur..roads are like rubbish.

Better you go through the trip logs rather than mentioning the same thing here.

PS: and yeah...ranebennur-davengiri: bad bad bad..roads are ok..but the construction work just pisses you off..
