On Thursday I took delivery of my new ride, Bajaj Discover 150 DTS-i.
Below are the tech specs of the bike: Engine Type DTS-i, 4-stroke, Natural air cooled Displacement 144.8cc Max Net Power 13.0 PS @ 7500 rpm Max Net Torque 12.75 Nm @ 5500 rpm Suspension Front Telescopic, wheel travel 130 mm stroke Rear Nitrox, wheel travel 110 mm wheel travel Brakes Front 240 mm Disc Brake Rear 130mm Drum Brake Tyres and Wheels Front 2.75 x 17" Rear 100/90 * 17" Wheels Aluminium Alloy Die Cast Fuel Tank Capacity 8 litres full Reserve 2.3 litres, usable reserve 1.5 ltrs Electricals Battery Maintenance Free, 12 V 7 Ah Headlamp 35 / 35 W Tail lamp LED Type Dimensions Wheelbase 1305 mm Ground Clearance 165 mm Kerb weight 121 Kg. Since I had been transferred to Chennai a year ago, I had to part with Discover 125 which is currently with my brother. I was using my fathers Star City for the past year. Since there was a need for my father, I had to get a new one and so started the search for a new bike. Since I got married in May, bikes with split or raised up rear seats were a strict no for the convenience of my wife. This ruled out a lot of bikes like Apache, GS150 and P135. I was not looking for anything more than 150cc. The hunt for the new ride started along with our Ace Hunter. We visited all bike manufacturers showrooms. Test drove P150, Jive, Flame and GS150R. Though I was not going to buy GS150, I test drove it just to see how the bike was. It was very much refined and I liked it a lot. We were denied a test drive of D 150 initially. Then we went back and asked for a TD for which Jai Bajaj Sanitorium finally agreed. The ride was enough to convince me that D 150 was what I was looking for. Though the specs dont seem very good on paper with 13 bhp, the pick up is quiet good as it is a very light bike. The engine and gear box are much more refined now than the 125 cc. Paid the full booking amount on sunday and took delivery on thursday. Special Thanks to Ace Hunter. He was there for the test rides and the delivery. Have completed close to 80km in 2 days. Have been riding mostly at 45 kph with occasional bursts up to 50 - 55 for a few seconds. It is quiet frustrating to do running in all over again but I am following it. As I mentioned earlier, the engine and gear box are much more refined that in 125cc that I have and I could see a marked improvement in quality. Kudos to Bajaj for continuously improving the quality, they will soon be up with the Japs if they continue at this rate. Some pics along with Ace Hunters 135cc Discover attached. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think the Pulsar 135LS is 5K costlier than the Discover 150.

Just saw the bike's photos...
I have also ordered the same bike and same colour ...Will get the bike today registered ...How is the disc brake in this bike?? I'm asking this because , in the bike which they gave me to test drive , the disc brake was not so powerful like in other bikes ...How is it in your bike?? The only thing i feel for is this thing.. Many say that it must be some issues in that particular bike which they gave for test ride... Please share your experiences about this arsudarsan .... Thanks in advance... |
