I am a new owner of a 2005 mid RE Electra 4s with 9400kms on odo.previous owner had not used the bike regularly. confirmed with a mechanic and then--- bought it !

Currently ,I changed the valve guides to brass made one's custom made here.I am running slow for 500kms for the valve seating.completed 300+kms already.this was done for reducing tappet noise and valve chattering(oil scarcity in high speeds in valve's).

I have a doubt.many bulleteers recommends adding of 80ml 2 stroke engine oil to full tank of petrol in bullet?any idea?is it helpful?

also ,any option regarding upgradation of oil pumps in 350cc bullets?

any news about UCE engines?how will they compare with current avl and CI engines?

Well here goes my contribution..

I own an Electra 5S, November 2005 Model...Bin amazing 2 years with the bike....Some modifications is the silencer has been changed to go for a more standard bullet sound...installed a New Bullet Mud Flap for the deeper thump.(sounds awesome)..and alloy wheels....

Its truly a rugged bike...has actually survived the worst of roads and riding conditions....but still stands tall..

The only problem has been the front break which gives me a headache every once in a while..(Guess should have gone for a front disc..I dint realise its worth then)

It still an eye turner and people do make way for the BULLET..even on mumbai roads

for me , Once I tried using front brakes also ,the braking increasingly seems better.try that.as of now ,good braking experience.

rugged bike? well ,if you ride it below 70-80kmph?

Regarding the oil pumps. they are the same for the 350 and 500, but if you want a bigger one then go for a 535 oil pump, this info has been confirmed by the Work shop spare part book in Bathinda, and the pump is for under 300 rs

^but does that results in increased drinking habits? I mean ,more frequent oil changes?already we ought to change around 3000kms run.

Not really not heard of but again if you have to reduce your change period by 500 Km it would not hurt i think..

yesterday my Bull was retuned with carb cleaned etc. now it is butter smooth to ride!

and guys ,what is the top speed(even for a split of a second) of bullet electra 350cc's in stock condition? in orkut bullet communities ,we can see overconfident kiddo's claiming 120-130kmph .

But ..I think bull can for sur reach 110kmph with stock settings na?

yes ,ofcourse it will fry the valves and engine by oil starvation and overheating -I know.but just a doubt

Hey Prakash! Hey man, bigger pumps would simply mean that your bike's heart got bigger, & it will pump more oil through the body (i.e. the engine). The oil change interval has got nothing to do with how big the oil pumps are. But then if you go in for the high capacity oil pumps, please get the job done from a skilled mechanic. Basically it's the pump pistons that are bigger & in order to be able to fit them, you will have to get the cavity ground for fitting these pistons. Take care. Happy thumping, Prakhar

Hey Prakash!

Hey man, as for the top speed, I feel that the top speed for a stock Electra is just about 95-100 kmph, maybe 105kmph but then that's it. I have my bike rejetted with a free flow exhaust, & the most that I could manage was a 120 or a little above as indicated by the speedometer. Assuming that my bike isn't the best, the maximum with rejetting also is probably just around 130kmph, nothing more than that, & this too according to the speedometer.
