A carburettor atomises fuel and air. The resultant mixture can be labelled as rich or lean depending on its fuel component. Stoichometrically, a mixture of 1 gm of fuel and 15 gm of air is optimal. This can vary to some extent depending on engine design, ambient temperature, load, etc. You should tune your engine to the ideal ratio... ie. neither rich nor lean.

And ya, breaks every 40 km are perhaps not really called for... at least not in this season. In summers, it might be a different thing. Personally, I have done 40 km non-stop on highway, on my CBZ last year, when it was new (with pillion). Speed was 80 - 100 kmpl. At the end of it, the engine was nowhere close to overheating.... would have happily gone on for many more km...

Thing is, at speeds above 80 km/h or so, wind resistance becomes a major factor, and so fuel efficiency will start dropping significantly.

Many times I rode my bike continuously for 200 km at speeds above 100 kmph.

75-100 km nonstop at 80 kmph is very well within limits of your bike's capability. Go ahead and enjoy.

Dude, its not possible to arrive at an accurate figure like that. As all riding conditions like load, wind speed, ambient temperatures are different.

Keep checking the temp. after every drive. You will eventually be able to tell when the engine is "abnormally" hot...

the other day i ripped the bike to its limit~95-100kmph and used lot of "engine break" after 90km or so i started to feel heat in my feets. the jeans were unable to absorb it totally. i guess engine break too stress the engine

You are right! But, I am quoting the approximate figure. See my above post, I mentioned the conditions too, highway riding at 80 kmph. It will not be that much stressful on the bike.

While climbing Kodachadri, I had to climb in first gear and after 5 km, I had to stop the bike due to burning smell from engine. So, these all are exceptions.

changed the oil(ELF).TOOK my friend on his RTR again for a err..test.
He said "again?? why u even wanna try".I dragged him to the highway somehow and their it happened as usual the rtr vrroomed past me in no time
i twisted the throttle changing the gears as needed he slowed for a truck i overtook him @ this point he started to overtake me on the left i was doing 85km/hr i moved to his lane blocking his progress. He twisted the throttle fully and overtook me easily on the right.and was pulling forward increasing the gap.
I twisted the throttle fully and held it their i saw my cbz reaching 120km/hr for the first time.by this time i was kissing the RTR butt. This time he tried everything to put some gap between him and me.but couldnt shake me off.maybe it was ELF power.i rewarded my bike by giving her a good water wash

@racoon u r correct after i changed the oil i measured the used oil it was only 650ml.
dont know where the remaining 150ml went.maybe it evaporated.

Hmm... thats intresting. Why I asked is that the HH oil and Elf, both are advicing a drain period of 6,000 km with top up every 2,000 km! That means they are assuming you WILL require a top-up every 2,000 km!!

Since HHs are now using the thinnest oil in the Indian market, this is kinda expected. More than evoparation, its more likely that most of that oil got burnt.... as, being thin, it must be getting past the rings...

Good that you measured the old oil. Keep an eye on it.

So you used this oil for like 1,500 km? Btw, if you got 650 ml when you drained it, it means you have lost 250 ml... not 150 ml! Thats assuming you put in 900 ml, which you should have.
