Kerosene shouldn't be used too often, just once in a while when it is too dirty.
Try using a better quality chain lube like Yamalube which lasts longer&is more water resistant than the other market products.
I use Yamalube dry white type chain spray for my R15 which costs about Rs.1400 a can, but lasts thrice as long as Motul. Check if the same thing is available for FZ also.

My Baby beast had her first service today.. Had her teflon coated and fitted them Clear led tail lamps and she is looking wow! Sorted the niggling drag i was having from the front Fork. Hmm a very satisfied and proud Yamaha owner today.. And a big thanks to the Service manager Sethu at Orion.

Went thru some threads today and found some of them suggesting using
a SAE 90 oil(dont know what it is)...is it ok...i wil buy the yamalube if need be but when you drive 300-400 km a week you need to clean it more often...
and i doubt i wil be able to afford a Can every month...

Yep, you can try that too. I was suggesting the Yamalube dry type since it lasts 3 times longer than the regular lubes. Since it is dry, even rain water does not affect it too much.
Whatever you do, just keep one thing in mind-don't use harsh stuff like kerosene too often, else the chain will turn permanently black.

Have you used Motul chain clean? If you use it regularly you don't need to use anything else. It removes all the dirt. Kerosene is only used for cleaning very stubborn dirt.
I use Motul chain clean&then Yamalube dry type chain spray once in every 1500kms.or whenever the chain starts making noise.
Last time it lasted me 1500kms.with 3 heavy rain rides&water washing every weekend. I got it relubed when the first hint of noise started, but it rained heavily the same day! No difference to the lube though. If it were Motul lube, I would have had to run back to the SVC the next day. Not to mention my rear alloy&number plate being sprayed black.
