Does any body got del. in Kolkata ? Dealers here aren't sure about del. date. I have booked the byk on 20th Sep & they promished to del. it by 20th Oct. But today when I called East ind. Sup. Corp., Kolkata, the guys failed to give any specific dates & even said it may take 4-6 weeks more ! That means 60 to 75 days to get del. after booking I have already paid them in full. What's going on YAHAMA ?

                3)pillion comfort
                4)mileage
                1) Handles very good, did about 20 kms in peak traffic and 15 kms in ring road, glides through potholes very nicely, very very good sussy, absorbs all the bumbs effortlessly. I guess rear sussy is in soft mode, not sure but i like it this way.

                2) Low end torque is very good, gives you more of bulletish feel, pulls good, even when I had a pillion with me. Feels more powerful than a 150cc, prolly courtesy torque. A very good bike to ride with pillion like unicorn.

                3) Went out with a friend, no complaints from her, i was specifically asking her if she is comfortable everytime I went through a pot hole, she said Fz is more comfortable than my Uni, seat is nice and soft too. I guess myth busted

                4) Its a guzzler.

Braking is very good, Front brakes are very nice and progressive. while crusing, I accidently went from Gear 3 to 2, Bike just stopped dead on road, no skid, nothing... i guess thats courtesy massive rear, lot of rubber to grip the road.

Gearbox is as cool as my unicorns, gear change was breeze, so is the clutch. full points here.

Loved the sound of the bike, it has a nice meaty throaty kinda roar when you rev it.

Best part is crusing at lower speed, its so comfortable, takes humps easily on 3rd gear, very torquey. When there is so much attention imparted towards you, crusing at 40-50 kmph is fun. Im sure i will enjoy my run-in period.

No vibes at all, no rattles even when i took a metal road to check for the rattling noise. Very comfortable seating position. I see no reason why Fz shouldnt be a good tourer. I guess this myth will be busted soon.

One word about a few people who said that this bike is plasticy. The plastics used on tank are of a high grade, unless you tap them you wont realise that its plastic. Also if someone scratches your tank, just change them for 600 bucks each

When it comes to looks, I just fell in love with the front and rear tyres. Just imagine, The width of Fz'z front tyre is equal to the width of the Rear tyre of my current unicorn(Nov 2004 model). I have no words for rear tyres, looks like a 400cc bike.

I liked the instrument panel, prolly analog dials would have looked better for this naked bike, no regrets. Loved the digital rpm meter, very cool. Engine Kill switch is a very good thing to have in city.

One thing im not happy about is the headlight, I did not feel any difference from my unicorns headlight. I guess HID will come to my rescue here.

                Thats all for now folks...

                  Congrats Shark

                  Hey Bro,

                  Congrats to you.

That was one good preliminary review. A bit disappointed with hearing that the lights are not upto the mark. This matters to me the most as I am a night prowler. I was told that the bikes would reach here by today or tomorrow so I am hopeful of getting the bike on friday for sure.

I would like to add my cent's worth by writing about the bike's handling in the rain as my town is experiencing a torrential downpour from last week.

                  Enjoy the attention.
Arun you stay in our hearts!! RIP my friend

                    @shark...which color?
btw is the red color same as that one offered in the pulsars or is it have a darker shade with a superbikish finish??
I guess run-in the bike very nicely, give it the traditional below 50km/h treatment, am sure it should give above 50km.L araam se....

Coldfingers: Headlight, yes nothing special about the illumination, HID will help you though, have to take a look at the warranty part. Well, I did ride in a moderate rainfall this morning, no sweat

me is rossi: Its a nice reddish-maroon, has a more reddish shade than the pulsars maroonish-red. Looks very pleasing. I inititially booked black, when I saw black and red next to each other, I went for red, as the detailing of the tank was kinda lost on black colour. Will do the run-n, but still not confident of 50kmpl, either ways i'm not looking at mileage.

Forgot to add, Fz has a slightly bigger turning radius than my unicorn, atleast feels that way.

Thank you very much for your inputs, Shark.

I'm confused on whether to push my dealer for delivery or not as it's been raining here since a week too and it doesn't look like it will stop raining for another week. My head says to wait for the next lot, but my heart says NOW!

Anyway, a big congrats and lots of good wishes to those who have taken delivery!
