Hope to catch up with you.
Just check for the chain slackness and make sure your bike is changed to the new brake camshaft that Yamaha is replacing for all the FZ's I guess.

      • FZ..probably no so happening...

FZ's handle is of poor and low quality. I have already seen a FZ which just falled from stand and as a result its handle got bent .
Beside this, yesterday my mechanic (who works for Yamaha) told me that they have started to get FZs for repairs. One of the FZ has leaked oil from front shockers (this is when they are the most bulkiest in Indian motorcycles) and another bike is having issues with its suspension.

What to say... these are not very common issues which we face in our motorcycles.. and I am forced to rethink about my impressions of FZ.

FZ16 got 5 Stars from Zigwheels only p220 has done it before u still think u need to say something.

After reading the road test I'm proud that I took a wise decision of taking FZ16 over p180

but again, your choice was based on fuel efficiency, looks and handling right? that's what the stats speak of too in any review/article.

zigwheels is run by a guy who is notorious for writing / claiming anything!
My FZ has never given me over 50kmpl in city riding. I wonder how these guys managed this much!

How much did ur bike clock? Is the first service done? Did it happen that you were running in your bike pretty smooth and then suddenly it got ripped?

                  Did the idle RPM change?

                  Check the engine oil level...

If it is nearing service, pls take it to the service center as there can be a whole host of things that could have gone wrong... some RTR's got such problem and needed tappet adjustment!

Check the engine oil level ASAP! If the engine oil is low than the required level, that could post to be a major problem for the mill!

P.S: What is the engine oil capacity of the FZ16? 1 litre?
                    :)

I am keeping the rpm under 4.5 k and speed under 50. I am not taking any chances will check the engine oil.

                          >What do u think of the bike for people over 6'1??? Is it going to be a comfortable ride???
                          >Does the main stand really hit the bumps when riding with a pillion???

                          • Hey there FZ owners... Where are you all? Is it that your bike is not giving you any problems and you dont have anything to post here? Or are you plain bored man???? Come on... There are lots of people who need your genuine voice... (Myself being one of them)

I just googled a bit about the mileage that can be expected from the FZ 16. And I was really astonished at the fluctuations. Mileage varies from 26 kmpl to 6x kmpl (zigwheels.com). How come there is such a fluctuation? I even came across a mail from the Yamaha East Zone head that "50+ kmpl mileage can be expected when you use higher octane petrol". And this fact has been contorted by the local dealers to increase sales. None of the dealers I interacted with said a thing about high octane petrol.

I had been waiting for the RTR Fi, but due to problems at the dealer end, no Fi bikes are going to be released in Orissa shortly. I have waited too long. And now, the choice is between the RTR Refresh and the FZ 16. My personal preferences are almost equal for both the bikes. Now, the only deciding factor is the mileage. I understand all those rants about power and performance, but for someone who is not earning yet, lesser mileage would mean lesser roaming around.... Hope you folks understand..

I wish I were... Either folks dont know how to calculate mileage, or are fabricating stuff. I am yet to come across someone who buys a performance oriented bike, and doesn't know how to calculate mileage. And all those guys who posted bad mileage figures also state that they are extremely satisfied with their bikes. Now, that kinda looks confusing to me... Thats why the query. Sorry for not having saved the search results, but go ahead and give "FZ 16 mileage" a try at google.com.

Mileage figures quoted it zigwheels.com was in the sixties, hence 6x.xx kmpl. Hope you understand now...
