By the way my bike's front suspension has bottomed out after a near miss accident and provides minimal feedback resulting in a jerky - FZ feeling lost - ride along with late braking. So i need to get that checked too.

I think i know which bolts you are talking about. Also the svc center guy had tightened a nut on the swingarm to reduce the vibrations. I do not know why, but it seems like only when a particular amount of tension or stress is added onto the chassis and swingarm set up, the vibration seems to die down. Its like whatever part is loose gets tightened up on having some added weight (read: pillion rider) at the back and goes back to its original position when riding solo resulting in the vibrations creeping in again. Will clarify this part coming weekend.Originally posted by avneetrekhi20 View Post

Low mileage for my bike...
Guys I've clocked 2300+ kms on my fz... but the mileage i get on it is very low around 30-35kmpl..in normal riding conditions...
i know that there is some kind of problem in my bike...but what could it possibly be?? cause directly asking the service centre guys is not solving this problem
...
After getting some suggestions i can possibly get those guys to check them out...
[p.s. I know how to drive a bike well enough. so no driving tips please!!!]Last edited by laxsidd; 03-12-2009, 03:04 PM.

I believe RICH mixture is going into the engine.. U can adjust it to 'a little lean' but by doing so, surely u will loose in Pick Up front!Originally posted by laxsidd View PostGuys I've clocked 2300+ kms on my fz... but the mileage i get on it is very low around 30-35kmpl..in normal riding conditions...

OK, see the trend with my bike is--
<4500 RPM and <60 kmph -- No Vibrations atall.
The moment i touch 60, more often than not i am at 4500 rpm range and vibrations are there..
Vibrations stay till i reach 65 - 68 range after which they fade out.
When in 60-68 kmph range, u can feel the vibrations in your thice (which touch the fuel tank) and in the handle bar as well! Its not shaky but still prominent enough.. and to my surprise the moment i come down to 60, they are no more!SAVE TIME....SEE IT MY WAY

No, in my case the vibrations do come back, but lesser in intensity. It seems we have more than less the same problem.Originally posted by avneetrekhi20 View Postand to my surprise the moment i come down to 60, they are no more!>-----R One Fly----->>

Yes this is true, and now when even fixing the bolts hasn't fixed the problem, i think the problem is somewhat else...Originally posted by speedaholica View PostIts the same in my case except i get them below 60 too.

The figure you are getting can be streched max to 40kmpl FZ will find it difficult to run more.Originally posted by laxsidd View PostGuys I've clocked 2300+ kms on my fz... but the mileage i get on it is very low around 30-35kmpl..in normal riding conditions...

Most of my friends having FZ are getting identical figures and guess what most of the people who have the R15 are getting around 45kmpl.Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

That's kinda weird considering the R15 is supposed to be a sports machine really. But I guess that would be city mileage figures considering pushing the bike to feel the punch isn;t exactly an option within the city now!!Originally posted by jasmeetsinghchawla View PostMost of my friends having FZ are getting identical figures and guess what most of the people who have the R15 are getting around 45kmpl.
Keeping with the FZ-S, quite disappointing... The least u'd expect were some changes in figures if nothing else.. I'm sure Yamaha has received quite a bit of feedback from customers with regards to the bike.
Say something like better performance figures that actually puts the bike in the 150cc segment for performance.. right now the darn thing is the slowest in the class on all figures!!on a never ending journey... a journey of learning!!

And yes the FZ has become the poser machine for all the fools here.Originally posted by naptrap View PostThat's kinda weird considering the R15 is supposed to be a sports machine really. Yes its a good stunt machine but the real thing that even first time riders are able to pull stoppies and wheelies.
I myself have seen more than 6 FZ's of whome the Speedo meter has been changed. Broken after flipping the bike while pulling a stoppie.Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.
