may be Yamaha found something wrong or may be the mileage complaints have become more!Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Postnah its not buzz word, actually ECU in normal bikes is used to control CDI unit, but in FI bikes it controls various other things. But why he changed? and as per the mech it is being changed on all bikes why?

Although i am not sure whether its being changed on all bikes, but they changed it according to the serial no. of the bike. I mean the new one had the bike's serial no. written on it.Originally posted by Anjit_Sharma View Postyeah man i know how it works on High end bikes...

When I asked why they were changing it, they just replied 'as directed by yamaha'. And they didn't tell me they were doing it, i just happened to be infront of the bike while he was changing it.
They changed it quietly. Maybe thats why no one has got any official call.

Check the engine oil level. Check if the screw which on unscrewing drains out oil from the engine is tightened properly and oil is not leaking from there. Also in one of your previous posts you had mentioned that tightening some bolts that fasten the engine on the chassis reduced the vibrations. I too get vibrations between 4000 to 5000 rpm in any gear. Can you, possibly with a picture, point out the precise bolts that were tightened? Also while you had the issue, did you observe the vibrations being lesser when riding with a pillion?>-----R One Fly----->>

Well thats correct! Vibrations have gone down, but still persists.. I would say that there has been reduction of say about 25%...Originally posted by speedaholica View PostCheck the engine oil level. and yaa.. If u ride with a pillion, the vibrations are comparatively lesser.. seems that we are sharing a common problem here..
Well i have already checked the Oil Level and that is perfectly fine.. I believe that for better average, the mechanic tightened the screw for fuel inflow hence a lean mixture is going... still speculations tho!!
Well Engine is held on chasis through some nut bolts.. If u view from left of the bike..u can view the nuts attached with the frame.. will try to post pic!SAVE TIME....SEE IT MY WAY
