It totally depends on Rider not on Ride,Originally posted by hoyleboyle View PostThis is pure crap,, real traffic conditions am getting 38kmpl MAX, topped at 110kmph, from 90kmph onwards need another 1.5km stretch to achieve 110kmph.
Sure it's fun to ride, VFM and comfortable!
I don't know what Real Traffic Condition means but I ride 70+ kms highways and 35+ kms City daily,
and I posted what I got in my bike,
and tell me if a P-200 can get 50+ kmpl then why can't a 153 cc Bike achieve 50+ figure,

city light riding gives me a consistant 44 kmpl.
While an occassional weekend highway dash drops it to 38 kmpl.
By the way, I am planning on getting Motul Chain clean + spray combo for Rs950 today. I feel my bike chain needs bit more attention, its very dirty with black muck.
and also thinking of getting a better horn, I restrained myself all these days "no kick, dont play with battery"; I cant take it any more! I feel ashamed to blow the horn in traffic!
Scooty pep sounds lounder!

If I ride somewhere between 50-60 (like a splendor).. I got around 45.. but normal riding.. (read ORR bangalore) 70-80 KMPH.. I get around 35-37 max...
I have touch 117 KMPH...but its like ages to reach that figure...as said above.. this will be more on the rider ...!!

What Next ??
After my ride..
I am facing the following problems
1. Engine gets heated up pretty fast. And it also smells funny.. like something is burning.. don't know what..
2. Clutch movement is no longer smooth
3. The noise is more deeper and harsh.. I don't like it one bit..
any suggestions?? Is it because I need to change the Engine Oil?? Its been some 900 KMs from the last time I did the engine oil change (that was in my third service).

I believ that noise that u r spekn bout comes at high speed onli and if this is true, its quite obvious. Even i ve encountered the prob of engine getting heated up, but this again happens when ur consistently riding over 70kmph for some time.. but this needs to be addressed! Check with a mechanic to get it fxd!Originally posted by leadpb View PostAfter my ride..

Just a suggestion - Check your clutch plates and engine oil both. Maybe the constant high speed run caused some damage to the clutch plates.Originally posted by leadpb View PostAfter my ride..

Yep Bro in Mumbai you need to stop at every next Signal, which stops you to get good fuel efficiencyOriginally posted by adises View PostIn a Mumbai at least the Fz-16 does not give more than 37kmpl in the western suburbs. Its all clutch and brake movement.
I also think the same,Originally posted by yvaditya View Post

By this do you mean that there are a lot of signals to stop at or is it that in places outside mumbai, people dont stop at signals?Originally posted by Anjit_Sharma View PostYep Bro in Mumbai you need to stop at every next Signal, which stops you to get good fuel efficiency

Well i'm getting anywhere between 35 to 45 depending upon where and how i ride. There is a lot of traffic in Mumbai, so yes you are stopping more often than riding. This has indeed brought down the fuel efficiency in my case. However during the running in i maintained speed limits below 60 and rpm levels below 5K. That gave me a good fuel efficiency. After that it has been anwwhere between 35 to 40 since sometimes i end up shifting at 6K rpm.
So if you can keep your 'i want to go faster' emotion at bay and ride at speeds below 60 then expect a good mileage. However i have noticed that the bike picks up sloppily if i shift too early say at around 4K rpm instead of 5 or above so i find it hard to ride in that style.

no no by that i mean more signals,so more Gear Shifting and Clutching,Originally posted by speedaholica View PostBy this do you mean that there are a lot of signals to stop at or is it that in places outside mumbai, people dont stop at signals?

throttling and de-throttling
it affects too much to get good milage,
maintain a constant speed and get good mileage

BTW adding an image of clocking 127 kmph

sorry for the small size,
my mobile's cam was set to 320x240 size so
