@arn1903: Well you are wrong, an RTR can beat a P200, and that too in a Track due to it's superior handling dynamics whereas in a long distance speed run the P200 will get ahead, by virtue of it's power

I was just going past this thread when the discussion of a street-race between a 200 and a FZ16 attracted my attention, though through these above threads i get a general message that 200 is superior than a FZ in terms of performance on paper and all, i would also like to add to that in a no-holds barred street fight (in sense of overtaking in traffic), there is absolutely no guarantee that the power your bike possesses will be suffiecient to defeat the other guy even if he's on a smaller bike and vice versa. In that sense you can never judge a bike just because it is able to smoke a bigger bike or get smoked by a smaller bike, only in a proper drag/track race, without the influence of any inhibiting factors like traffic will you be able to truly decide which is the better bike in terms of torque/power/dynamics.

I think you should be afraid of a drag in traffic rather than a drag against the 200. Why not take this to an empty road and come out alive and in one piece and if possible victorious too.Originally posted by arn1903 View Postthanx EL LOCO ..i always afraid of draging with p200 at traffic now i defntly try it..but wonder is the refress dynamics is better than rtr old verson??>-----R One Fly----->>

OT: I don't actually advocate you to stick it to a P200 rider in traffic, in my experience i've come across lot of temperamental riders who literally blow their top, in a street fight. AFAIK the only difference i could make out between the RTR and the "Refresh" versions in the extra claddingsOriginally posted by arn1903 View Postthanx EL LOCO ..i always afraid of draging with p200 at traffic now i defntly try it..but wonder is the refress dynamics is better than rtr old verson??
@all FZ'ers: Are the rubbers in the FZ made of the same compound as that of the R15? meaning is it sticky compound or just normal MRF compound?Last edited by EL LOCO DIABLO; 03-31-2009, 10:58 PM.I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

tyre doubt
the shape of both the tyres are very different, right ?Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Postas per yamaha interview its same compound.
FZ is low profile. R15 has rounded tyres.
Guys have anybody taken the tyres out of the rims. How do they look without the rims ? Does FZ tyre retain the same shape once free from the rim ? any idea about the R15 tyres ?

verymuch true.for eg if u consider shine vs the unicorn, during starts the shine effortlessly pulls past the unicorn, thanks to its gearing but past 60 the unicorn smokes the shine.Originally posted by EL LOCO DIABLO View PostI was just going past this thread when the discussion of a street-race between a 200 and a FZ16 attracted my attention, though through these above threads i get a general message that 200 is superior than a FZ in terms of performance on paper and all, i would also like to add to that in a no-holds barred street fight (in sense of overtaking in traffic), there is absolutely no guarantee that the power your bike possesses will be suffiecient to defeat the other guy even if he's on a smaller bike and vice versa. So all those who have got nicked by small capacity bikes
,all u have to do is twist the throttle at the right point of time and voila
Socha Toh Locha.

Ha ha saw the racing between P200 vs FZ16...
I met an accident last month with my FZ16 on a drag between P200...
The story in brief...
Me and the guy was in front of a signal were lot traffic behind... When the signal went that guy just zoomed away and luckly i got the proper start so that me too zoomed behind him... i really liked that coz all were stunned with that and a straight road there was nobody till the next signal and even though i didn't beleived FZ can do that much i just came behind him... luckly for the second signal the light was green... he downed the gear a ripped... i was in the 3rd gear... the perfect gear of FZ(i say)... just took the guy from behind and hear comes the turning... i kept my nerve and concentration but wen i overtaked the guy i was just(i can't say i words) and lost the concentration and turned my FZ in 5th gear and i think i was in a speed between 70-75kmphr... and took the turn towards right(like we see in MOTOGP...
)
The bike skidded and i was hit on the head(thanks 4 the helmet) and skidded away... the other guy stopped his bike and came running towards me and took me up and the bike... blood coming from my hands and leg...
he gave water from near by house and that guy was really helpful...
and atlast when he went he told me he never thought FZ has this much power...
Guys will tell u something... that on a steet drag u can race with P200, but on TOPSPEED P200 will definitely smoke an FZ16... sure...

I think u have to re consider ur statement in this.... Sorry to tell u this but, Fz-16 is no way near a p-200 for sure and everyone knows it for, coz both the bikes have different nature with regard's to the engine & styling. While Fz is more into styling & naked looks, P-200 is into performance biking...... As per the narration done by you, think the p-200 guy would either be a rookie
or didnt have a proper START.......or else he would have reached home by the time fz comes to its live power band

Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. U will always be remembered brother, R.I.P Arun.

sure i agree with u p200 is definitely a performance bike... and the last quote i don't agree coz the mid range and a low end torque is definitely big big +ve for the FZ... i don't think he will reach home with the time...Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostHey Binoy,

After the writing about your accident, you end the post by doing a comparison between the two. Please look at the bigger picture. You crashed, and you could have died ( I am sorry for sounding harsh) and which bike was faster would not have mattered. With God's grace, you have lived.Originally posted by Binoy View PostHa ha saw the racing between P200 vs FZ16...

And how much ever Noob that rider on the 200 was, he was a gracious soul to stop and help you after your accident. God knows if any 'pro racer' or any one would have done that.
The 200 and FZ both are capable machines in their own rights. It depends who rides.Last edited by pranay; 04-01-2009, 07:31 PM.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe
