      One is a referral offer, in which the referrer gets 500 Rs, and the customer gets Rs 2,500 benefit.

      Another one is a Student offer. Rs 3,000 benefit for the student.

      First of all, is this offer valid, for fazer too??

      Secondly, If I go to buy the bike through a referral, and also I am a student, so will I get 5,500 (3000+2500) cash reward on my purchase ? ?

      Let's save sum bucks guys, We're through recession
      I had talked to the Yam Reps today. The discount offers cannot be clubbed together, so either discount of 2.5k(for non students) or 3k(for students).

      And NO! The offer is not valid for the Fazer.

      What i feel is, they are trying to carve out a Niche for the Fazer, but they have realised that FZ-16 already is grossly overpriced. So, this is a strategy like HH had with which they first created a limited period offer (back in 2005 i think) of a 10k discount on ZMA and then decided on keeping the lowered price for all sales. This is something the manufacturers do to lower prices of overpriced products and not hurt the feelings of people who may have just bought the product a few days before they announce the price cut.
      Advice is a form of nostalgia.
      Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

        Ya man...thats exactly what Yamaha is doing here....they cannot just cut down their overpriced product overnight
        So they are going slow on it by coming up with these gimmicks....

        BTW does anybody have any good or innovative idea to cover the front
        mudguard on FZ....it slings up mud like hellllllll.....all my shoes and clothes
        get dirty in an instant....

              • I have finalized the black color...

                Just wanted to ask does YAMAHA have any model (FZ16) in full black like the FZ1??

                Or any possibility to do mods to convert the same ?

                Is my decision is right or should i c more options in 150cc ?? Hows the after sale service here in New Delhi ?

                One more question, it is possible to remove the saree guard & rear view mirrors ? I think these two things are spoling the loks of the bike ..

                • Please don't remove the RVM's. They aren't for show you know. Who knows someday they might just save your a$$. As for converting it to fully black try and source the middle silver covers which are available in black on the black/yellow FZ-S.

                    • Finished 100kms

                      Opppa! Done, Today the Baby beast has done 1002 kms and I am very happy an importnat milestone in her young life has passed. Adn I had few doubts in me mind, As the first service was done at 670 kms will I need to change the Engine oil and have the Oil filter cleaned? As the next service is due only after another 30 -40 days. Please advise.

                      • fz 16

                        hi all fz 16 owners

                        i have just purchased my bike on 15th JUly this month

                        and in 8 days i rode 280 km with a full tank which is 12 ltrs which this bike drank like beer in just 280 km's...

                        i m angry abt its average cause its 22 to 25 before 1 st service.. {but i don't care cause i m a rich brat}

                        THE Good THings ABt the BIKe..

                        1 - awesome handling u can't compare it with any other bike under 250cc
                        2 - it can beat the shit out of any bike in 0 - 80 kmph .. but after that it slows and other bikes will beat it...
                        3 - girls watch the beast not the zma,s and r1 now.....
                        4 - u can trust this bike on sharp turns and even lay them
                        5 - in 0 - 60 kmph the bike stops in 1.6 seconds something.
                        and in 0 - 80 kmph the bike stop 2.2 seconds..
                        the braking is simply awesome u can use any 1 at a time or both..
                        loved the braking..

                        NOW some bad things i noticed {not really bad}

                        1 - while we ride upon water the whole water jumps upon us and the pillion from the rear tyre..{the mudguard isn't successful}
                        2 - average is low and if u try to increase will destroy the performance..
                        3 - seat is not comfortable --{i have put some more foam upon it with a new cover}
                        3 - in long routes ur shoulder and ass will pain in just half and hour..

                        4 - horn is of scooty..{i have put have roots dual horn which are used in maruti 800}

                        5 - very low ground clearance almosst the engine hits every speed breaker

                        6 - chain and disk starts to rust very fast and chain requires regular maintainece

                        thats all folks but
                        this bike can only make u ffeel like u r riding an aeroplane...

                          It is exactly like the one on a scooty... I mean earlier i thought it was similar in its low volume.. but its exactly the same..

                          Today I was riding and a scooty was in front of me, and a car was in front of the scooty.. I pressed the horn once and the scooty pressed the horn once; initially, subconsiously I thought I had honked twice but 2 seconds later I realized that I had in fact honked just once...

                          btw, here in Pune, it rains almost non stop and the streets are filled with muck, which flies around like crazy. There's no point washing the bike in this season, since it wont last 1 ride to the office... Other than getting it washed and lubed, is there anything else that can be done to protect the chain n other parts from getting corroded?

                            lube it weekly, its not necessary to wash it everytime, buy a can of chainspray, not necessarily of yamalube or some rich stuff... they are overpriced. I use OKS chain spray, its a great product known to industry people, one big bottle comes for 250 rs n lasts a year.

                            I did not notice any other part of the bike catching rust till now (except for the place on the chassis where leg guard is mounted externally by me), i covered it with fabric color in the dry condition .. believe me it stays for long (long enough b4 i fall again).

                            i did notice the powder coat on my silencer near the engine come off like big patch when i removed the dirt there, I am expecting problems from there but rusting has still not started in that part (its over 1 month old), m taking it to the SVC soon.

                            n my bike avg is like ever dropping reached 30 (from 40 after 1st) after 4th service 9000kms... dunno what to do.

                            • i gave bike for 3rd service at orion today change from my regular dealer, he told me that u cannot change ground clearance even if u make shocker stiff it will still touch some breakers, he told chain will make noise after 300kms but if it was covered you won't have heard it.

                              i will enquire abt new mudguard attachment

                              Also i feel yammy should launch crash guards like the ones for R1 available, leg guards look fugly and i am sure they will spoil handling to some extent, also engine cover like RTR! i hope they do
