  • Isn't this misleading the customer? Foreign manufacturers don't even provide essential accessories like leg guard and number plates (even saree guard), due to this, have the benefit of pricing the bike, just that little bit cheaper to be able to stand in the competition. But ultimately, you have to spend an additional 1-1.5k on these essential accessories up and over the OTR price.

Manufacturers like Bajaj provide all this stuff as standard.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

well. if you are riding, it should not be a problem. if so, get your clutch checked. If you are in a standstill (rear tyre not spinning) then of course changing gear is a prob.

        • I dont know where this discussion is going but AFAIK a manufacturer HAS to provide you the following accesories with the bike
          RVMs
          Saree guard
          Front and rear Number Plates...
(now lets not discuss the lights and the blinkers and all :P )

These are things required for the Bike to go through the 'rto' clearance.... I am not to sure if the same rules apply at all the state, but atleast it does in Maharashtra...
And heck they come on the R1 too!!!

Also the use of the crash guard or leg guard as we call it is a very debatable topic.... I have seen people being more hurt with the use of one as well I mean literally people being trapped due to the 'leg guard' and being dragged to ..... err nevermind...

BTW Does the FZ come with a tilt sensor? I can seem to remember!

Personally I used to have it on my RTR as I had once been saved by it when a biker couldnt control the bike in a turn and skid and hit the bike.... had the guard not been there then it would probably hit my legs!! but once it broke, i havent plonked a new on on it yet... so much for the weight reduction!

Isn't the saree guard a mandatory fit on any bike in India ... ? The cops might take an interest in you for not having one , also the fact that you have a fancy looking bike , plus no front number plate as well ... man you gotta be on your toes around the bangy cops ... dunno where you might find them .

I don't think they even notice the missing saree guard!
They surely notice a missing front number plate. I stickered mine onto the mudguard so I can atleast have something to say!

                      • @ all

lets end this topic here it self as we all got some good bikes with us and spending on them is Ok.......... rest its upto our govt to lay out some standard set of rules that a two wheeler being sold in India should have these accessories as defined without which the vehicle is not to be allowed to be on road and the extra things we can get on our own..........

rest let me show you another exclusive custom painted fz-16 of my friend pics of which I am posting......looks cool too me.......wotsay?? mine is fz s as all you know.......

                          • yup

^^ +1 , yeah that would make a good addition to the family , but we can still get it done for 5K extra ... I initially wanted the blue , albeit a different shade that that one , so he asked 5k which i didn't have at the time ...
