If I start to get a little stumble (rich) then I mark the position of the AF screw with a permanent marker (so I can always come back to that tune/position) back the AF screw out (lean) 1/4 turn. Ride around and feel for the stumble, If it reduces then I can either leave it or tweak it some more.

If you don't know what you are doing then best leave it. I leave the tune to my mechanic, Its his job, he's got yrs of experience.

If you do decide to bite the bullet and have a go, them make sure you only due little adjustments at a time, Don't go screwing it 1/2 or full turns. Make notes of how many turns left or right.
hey mik, but i have tried many places and many times (not for my bike)...the mechanic just simply turns the screw....he doesnt even warm up the bike....is it correct??? i thnk the bike shld b adequately warmed up before tuning process.....correct me if wrng....

    • My fazer gives me around just 33-35km/Litre mileage and that too be with sane riding, while reading this thread i thought of checking the Spark Plug, as i dont have much knowledge abt reading the Condition, so iam putting the snaps taken so that you guys can help me..

I never got a mileage more that 35-37 for my fazer and even after telling this to the mechanic, it never made any changes

      • Had a fall yesterday. Was riding to office at Sakinaka on a normal straight road. Someone decided to cross the road. I applied front brakes. Bike skidded and I was standing on the road watching my bike slide for some distance. No one came for help to pickup my bike rather everyone tried to dodge me and leave.
Finally I picked up the bike (the rear wheel was still spinning). Took it aside and checked for the damage.
Surprisingly no damage to me or my bike (Not even a scratch to me). Checked the road and found oil spilled there . Took some mud and tried covering the oil. But it was not enough. Hope no one else had a fall because of that remaining oil.
Note:- I was not wearing Knee Protectors as I was going to office .

              • @RAK: Hope you are alright man! i usually try and follow AGATT whenever i am out of home, atleast the helmet and riding gloves are always there as minimum kit. I guess the leg guards took the beating in your fall, would suggest that you get them checked.

                Cheers,

I always wear my helmet, riding jacket & gloves when I start my bike. I was wearing all these yesterday also. Just the knee protectors were missing as always due to office commute. Without the gears I feel really uncomfortable while riding.
The crash guard is slightly bend. Will get it repaired / replaced in my next service.

                    • Thanks for the reply Vimal

I reduced the resolution of the Pic before uploading so that it is Data friendly
The head of the spark plug was covered with black carbon when i opened it, so even i feel thats by bike is on richer Fuel

Just want more info from experienced people before changing the Fuel setting

                      • Hi Kinshuk,

Since you are in Pune, you can try out Fox knee protectors, you can slide them under the pants. You might have used these. Below is the photo:

I always wore them under the jeans (while travelling to office) or riding pants. Saved my knees couple of times. Check out plant DSG at camp, they have more verity, but most of them will be bionic.
But then it doesn't cover the sheen, so I bought another Fox one from AH helmets at andheri, Mumbai. They are made up from some kind of hard plastic but covers the sheen perfectly, I use them on rides. AH Helmets supplies them to the stuntmen of bollywood (as the owner told me). Don't know how much they are reliable but till my next onsite visit, I'll keep using these. Below is the photo

                          • Hi mates,
I am having an issue with my Fazer(it is only 20 days old). I ride it only on saturday & sunday(As my office is not at my hometown, I stay away from my home in the weekdays). When I try to start the bike on Friday night/Saturday morning, I cannot start it using the self start, after lot of tries in both self & kick, & use of choke I can get it stated. I went to the showroom, those guys told me that it is natuaral as I don't use it continiously for five days. They adviced to tell anyone to keep the engine on for 5 mins per day. Could you please tell me whether it is natuaral or not?And how to solve it? I am going to do one modification in this weekend,by which I shall be able to switch both the headlamps on simultaneously in both upper & dipper . Will it create more problems?

                              Bro,

Apply slight throttle while starting and see if it cranks then. If it does then there is no problem. Hope you adjusted the AFR back to normal otherwise that also results to cold start problems and in the long run damages the engine.

                              Cheers,
