Mileage showing differently...

Guys i am binoy from kerala... bought my FZ16 last monday(16th), on the same day i went to my home from trivandrum to thrissur which is above 300+kms... and i loved the ride very much... when i returned back to trivandrum after 4 days stay i checkec the mileage... i got a mileage of 59km/lt... which i know u guys dont believe and also i... i thought the trip meter was wrong... so i checked it another time and it showed 46.6km and now today i checked it again and i got 28.3km... even though the distance is same...

i don't know why is it showing like that... help me guys...

you've driven to the same distance, rite?? But, did you drive same as you did for 59kmpl and 28.3kmpl?? i mean did you rip the engine both the times, wen you got 59kmpl and 28.3kmpl?? hmm?? it depends on how fast you drove.. if you drive under 5rpm, you'l get 55~60kmpl.. and above 5rpm-6rpm, you'l get 35-40kmpl.. and 7rpm ~max.. you'l get less than 30kmpl.. PROVEN!

How do you check the mileage?

getting 60 kmpl is not a big thing...even i got once but 28.3 kmpl is unbelievable..
i ridden 110+ and 7.5k+ rpm for straight 20 mins and got near 35 kmpl...

I don't know whats the problem exactly is... but in several blogs and in orkut communities many people telling of the same varying mileage...

the best I got was 48kmpl(during run in) and the worst was 36 kmpl( testing the top speed after 1st service).

Today I made 108 kmph, the best I have managed so far on our pathetic roads.

Regarding Incorrect Fuel Reading

Hi Guys,

As we ve discussed this time and again that our so called Digiometer gives us incorrect reading more often then not and tells whatever it likes as per its mood.. theres something that can be done..

Acc to Yamaha Riders showroom mechanic in Pune, the problem arises since while refueling, fuel is poured in with tremendous intensity, as a result the float doent always perform perfectly. So he has adviced me to almost empty the fuel level (to make it say 250 - 300 ml fuel), then refuel and give it a try..

Doesnt looks too convincing to me,.. what say??
