u can get good average if you ride at a constant speed,Originally posted by avneetrekhi20 View PostDoes that mean that if u drive consistently at 60+, u'll never get average better than 40? In my case majority of driving is at Highway and hence i have to drive > 60kmph..The best however i ve achieved is 45 kmpl
no sudden breaking, no de-accelration, no sudden accelration,
and yeah set your idle RPM to <1000, this also helps to increase the average,

I have seen an Apache with the FZ-16 headlight assembly! It looked like a mismatch - Malika's and Angelina's body parts mixed and matched!Originally posted by Mcspeed View PostWhat is the price of fz16's headlight assembly? If anyone know plz share. I wanna import one from Delhi. And where can I get that ??
Which bike to you intend to fit that headlight assembly into?:)

I will try it on CBZ Xtreme. I don't think it will be bad. How can it be uglier than xteme's weird headlight.Originally posted by Aryan View PostI have seen an Apache with the FZ-16 headlight assembly! It looked like a mismatch - Malika's and Angelina's body parts mixed and matched!

I'm facing a weird problem with my FZ. I got the bike about a month ago. after around 10 days of riding, the bike started giving distinct vibrations between 3500 to 4500 rpm. These vibrations grow as the engine approaches the 3500 mark, and start dying down at around 5000 rpm. These vibrations are felt prominently on the handle bar and near the tank recessions where we take a grip with our thighs.
I showed the bike at the service center and the service guy said the issue would get resolved after the 1st service, which it did but for a while. The vibrations cropped up again the very next day after an hour's ride from Goregaon to Mulund. Got it shown at the service center again, today. He tightened a few bolts around the engine, may be on the chassis and the swingarm bolts too.
The vibrations died down, but have crept up again by the time i reached office which is a around an 8 KM ride from the service center.
Has anyone faced a similar issue?
Please advise.

Vibrations!!
Vibrations could be because of the rubber dampings where the engine is mounted. have a check on them. Otherthan that check whether the nuts and bolts became loose again. And there should be some issue with the engine itself. Speak to the service station manager and then get it replaced.

lol yea, get the bike replaced if the A.S.S guys cannot fix the problem permanently. 75K is too much to pay for a tractor, My Fz doesnt vibrateOriginally posted by balaji.ep View PostVibrations could be because of the rubber dampings where the engine is mounted. have a check on them. engines die out when not hot at that idle rpm. And also, idle rpm shouldn't have an effect on the mileage u get unless u idle the bike for hours!Originally posted by Anjit_Sharma View Postand yeah set your idle RPM to <1000, this also helps to increase the average,
~Rs 900. Try any Yamaha Service Center.Originally posted by Mcspeed View PostWhat is the price of fz16's headlight assembly? If anyone know plz share. I wanna import one from Delhi. And where can I get that ??

@balaji and shark80: i'm hoping that it wont require a drastic measure such as replacing the whole vehicle.Originally posted by shark80 View Postlol yea, get the bike replaced if the A.S.S guys cannot fix the problem permanently. 75K is too much to pay for a tractor, My Fz doesnt vibrate
@all: Like you guys said, there must be some issue with some fitting, because the vibrations seem to die down after tightening a few nuts on the chassis where the engine fits in. Also he tightened the bolt which attachs the swingarm to the chasis. So i guess I'm looking at some loose rubber dampers and nuts, if not anything serious.Originally posted by Aryan View Post@speed: Can there be something wrong with the handle? Perhaps, try and tighten the handle nuts.
The service center guy, after a test ride, said that there was nothing wrong with the engine. Above and below the RPM band i mentioned before, the engine has been really smooth and no loss of power has been felt while riding as such. In fact it performs well whereever it needs to. Its just the vibrations that are bothering me because they also seem to give a feeling that the engine is choking at those specific RPMs.
Will keep you guys posted.>-----R One Fly----->>
