I wanted to know the wobbling part. The bike is light.. so goes it wobble at high speeds?? Mine was in run-in so i put up that q. Till nw, have taken mine till 75 and seems ok. But, somewhat the drag of the wind is felt !!

Mine still gives 45+ KMPL in city traffic !!

Is it possible? and do the yamaha dealers offer servicing before the prescribed distance?
True!! I felt the same !! Even after 1st service, the whole sound is different. I wonder its good or bad !! Any experiences so far??

Hello proud owners of FZ,
I have some queries bout the bike as I am considering to buy one for me:

-- really weak looking handle, not sure if it can be as strong as it is meant to be. Is it so bad that I need change it? Can it be changed easily with some small cost?
-- paint on the alloy wheels is gross as per the first look -- not even as good as on XCD125. Can't say about the absolute quality. Can it be redone with some really good quality one?
-- Pillion seat is really small -- only your GF can accompany you and that too only astride. I guess it can't be fixed, just have to live with it.
-- Missing kick for a drained battery which seems to be common with this bike. Is it really a problem? If yes, is there any viable solution for this?
-- weak horn. Can it be upgraded?
-- smaller mud gurads. Can these be upgrades?? Yes, I guess.
-- How's the headlight for the bike?

Ok.... now that my pal Sumit (dragster) has got this bike.... 3 days old now... hes done 300+kms on odo... and going for a initial oil change tomorrow morning.
Caught with curiosity, we did a couple of short drags with my P220.... and we were surprised with the pickup and performance of the FZ16.... from start it keeps itself there with the P220 till 70-75kmph..... though I pulled my P220 enough till 8-8.5k rpm, which is ok to atleast leave behind a 180cc bike.... but this was something not expected with a 150cc bike with fat tyre, and bad aerodynamics.

Other things I noticed is... the bike is very good at handling, seating and breaking. After riding it.... I was literally feeling sad on my P220, the FZ is that good.

He/me did not face any issues with the handle quality or look or feel, nor did we find any quality issues with the mag-wheel paint quality. Pillion seating is comfortable enough according to what I think and feel.
Horn is an issue, but can be changed.

Lights are good, spread is pretty good, but intensity is not enough.

Out of all the commotion this is something exciting. We've been ranting about the paint quality of the rims, handlebar quality, the sales experience and finally the apparently underpowered engine.

The analogy is : Most of the time we would ride at speeds in the city which stay in the 0 to 80 kph band. Only when we find a really open road, thats when we go higher up on the speedo. For a city rider the low end performance of this bike being at par with that of a 220 means a lot.

I'll hope Chetan comments on this part because he's from Mumbai. I dont think we have the roads to ride at speeds above 80. In fact even the 60-80 kph range seems to abuse the suspension and the body given the 'twin of a crater' potholes and pavement blocks(even on highways) coming of.

About the highway, well thats a personal preference. I dont think this bike was built with the designer dreaming of a highway. But then i'm sure it should be able to hold on fine. Just not attain high speeds.

People who've been following the FZ threads, please comment. I hope more such comparo follow.

PS: I may come across as a FZ16 fan boy. But this is one bike which seems to have good design dynamics. May be they would have paid some attention to the performance part too.
