dude the small scraping sound is normal in all fzs...asked the mech and also seen earlier in this very thread.but in case the noise is loud not just a rustle of the calipers then may be you need to take it to the mechanic and get the distance between them increased or may even be caused due to the caliper being misaligned and requiring alignment. Have u had a fall or a rather nasty pothole that you hit, these may be the reasons for your disc getting misaligned.

regarding pot hole and fall , i had neither of it .. its just the scraping sound but the problem is the disk gets heated after riding for 3 kms [without much braking] |

i have seen this in the past that my disc too makes that noise but i learned to ignore it.It only is heard when i am at low speeds and with the engine cut off or not running at all. Please clarify on the frequency and the loudness of the noise to give us better prespective. As i mentioned it is comman to hear a rustling sound. If still worried get it checked out by the local Yamaha SVC.They might be lazy n irritating but they do know the bike better than most...

Got my bike fitted with these following things today.
Cool mesh seat Cover (Rs 1250) - Its really good one, Riding the bike with this cover almost feel like there is a fan inside the seat, worth having one. will be great of a long ride for sure. Would love if yamaha comes with more such invovative things. OSRAM Nightbreaker 12v 60/55W H4 (Rs 850 - ebay.in with 20% disc coupon) - will check today night and let you know guys. High beam looks very powerful. Thanks guys for helping me choose these things.

hey guys , been inactive for long time here , was reading through all the probs people are having with their fz's , me on the other hand am jus smooth sailing with my bike , hasn't given me a single problem to date** touchwood ** , been about 4 months , two services done ... yesterday was on a 200 km round trip to the outskirts of bangalore , was fantastic , what was more amazing was the mileage my bike gave through the entire ride ... 55.3
... plus it was not all that sedate a ride as well ... had filled 200rs worth of shell normal fuel ( bike was running on vapours before refill ) , and hit reserve as the trip meter read 217km ... jus hoping the trend continues
