Apparently, I didnt realise a wait of 6 weeks to buy a bike in India is the norm! (I've never had to wait more than two weeks for a newly launched bike before) Anyway I do mention if its possible to get one faster at a premium!

I was told Nationwide bookings of little more than 6000 and wait times of 45 Days (Anyway 1,69,000 bikes cannot possibly be manufactured in the next 45 Days!) Also If they're so overwhelmed by the bookings, I wonder what the spare parts situation is going to be like? (No chance of "Mototuning" the bike)
Also the dealers you mention are not listed on the Yamaha website. (PM me the Phone No. if possible)

PS: Unless I manage to het hold of one sooner, I figure if I have to wait till December to take delivery of the bike, I might as well wait a bit and buy the new Karizma (250?) or similar that should be launching by then! I have owned a Karizma before, quite liked the bike (apart from the Fairing) and had no problems in the 2 years I had it. Got great resale when I sold it. (I usually dont keep bikes for more than 2~3 years)

Congratulations, Rohit, and thank you for clarifying on the visibility of the instrument cluster on the FZ16 under sunlight. The colour red sure looks hot on the FZ16 and you're the first one to own the FZ16 on this forum... Lucky you!

Now, we need pictures and a 100Km. (not Kmph) review from you... Hurry, Puttar!
