Any chance to get our fz's to this level in mileage?
highest ever recorded...cant say...but on xbhp there is a guy who got 55kmpl.. dont remember his name....70kmpl is no ways for the fz...u have to find straight roads and no one for miles to even think bout 60kmpl...which is kinda optimistic....i regularly these days get round 40 kmpl(city + highway and economical+ripped driving) that is probably the extent of mileage...

I appreciate ur efforts in mileage and FE.But u gotta understand that wen we bought this bike we knew it was not for its fuel efficiency...it was for its looks,...the torque and the feel of the wide handle bars...sometimes i do drive economical but that is not how this bike was meant to be driven...it was meant to be a mean torque monster...all this leaning of the fuel mixture and stuff is against the true nature of the bike...

PS...these are my two cents...if u feel offended then pls ignore them...

Yup that would be ME , i got 56kmpl , but put into account it was highway riding with the number of gearshifts easily countable on the fingers of the hand . but i generally get around 51 or 52 kmpl on the highway . my bike's pretty stubborn on the city , whichever way i ride it , economical or rip , it doesn't give me anything more or less than 43kmpl . i've tried it .

I do agree with k2cool anyways , didn't really get the bike for it's mileage now , did we ? the high mileage on those bikes maybe due to the skinnier rear tire and some tuning .

Well the draining interval for mineral oil is 1.5k km from my side.
Semi-synthetic 3k km
Fully Synthetic 6k km

These are min draining intervals and proves to be good engine condition.

thnx a ton dude...will be draining the oil only after a weekends trip(300kms to and fro)...this will help me judge whether the oil actually needs changing...

Will do that. On initial impression, it definitely felt more airy and cool, but a bit slippery especially when braking hard (probably beause of the 'new-ness' .
