I feel the engine turning a bit rough today... completed 400 km and rarely crossed 55 kmph may be 5 times lasting less than 5 secs each. Tyre pressure is good (28 and 33). Never crossed RPM over 4500.

Should I be worried? Or is it a part of run-in?

after the high flow air filter and no change to the fuel flow your bike is probably running lean and hence the trouble at higher rpm's.

After installing the filter showroom guys had tuned it up once. So u r taking about proper carburetor tuning or re-jetting?

P.S- did u say u sold the shogun to buy an FZ?
No problems, totally chilled, forgot to mention about my comet too. Anyway, what I meant was that we don't expect any problems in a new Bike. The SHOGUN was long gone. I sold my P 180 classic & bought the FZ, ORANGE colour. I also checked the accessories mentioned in this thread, at the dealership, they're not so BAD at all. The Gold is only bright in the brochure, but if you see it in real, you can actually say they are anodised. They looked pretty okay, but still they're not upto my taste.

CHEERS,
G D

Standard stuff..chain treatment,oil check,water wash..costs about 350/- in Panache,B'lore.The bike felt much better.
About the speeds after run-in,I checked with a few people here and what they say is as long you don't put strain on the engine it should be fine.I did try to push it on Outer ring road,it seemed to strain when reaching 60kmph but felt better after while pushing all the way upto 90kmph.

Default Funny Digiometer

Hi All,

I think this is common problem, but still inviting comments on this..

Dont you feel that the Fuel Indicator is completely 'Stupid'?

In my case, It shows almost anything. Start of a ride, It'll indicate 2 bars, 5 kms down it'll change to 1 bar, then after some time, back to normal 2 bars and if its in mischiev mood, then it'll show 3 bars!!!

Has any of u experience this?

Default Chain Oil

Hi,

My FZ sounds more like Pulsar these days, A month back, i went to mechanic, he heard the voice, lubricated the chain, and the Yamaha Voice was back..

Now again the engine seems to be noisy..

Can any 1 suggest me the correct lubricant to be used for FZ?

Also tell me the quantity and frequency of lubrication..

Thanks in Advance! Cheers..
