Hi Guys!
I am looking for a 150cc for myself, and the FZ is a major consideration.
What I want to ask you guys is that is the FZ (not the Fazer) good enough for touring?
I'd like to take it to Ladakh a few times, and other than that, I'll be mostly doing open highway tours.... (400 odd km per day).
Does this suit the FZ?

My first ride ever - Khardung La – 18380 ft. Riding to the World’s Highest Motorabl

There is proof. Havent been there myself. But from whatever little touring I've done I can tell you, the only probs that I've faced are a sore behind and some pains in my palm (negated by use of gloves of course). I've put in a mesh seat cover which negates the sore behind too. But not a lot of other people have faced this problem.

The Machine as such is splendid. It'll handle the terrains for sure. Kindly read the above link for the precautions taken. Read it otherwise too coz it is very nicely written.

i wouldnt recommend you fz or any other 150 c.c. if your budget allows go for a bigger cubic capacity bike as your 400km every day on highways will take a toll on the engine quite quickly....
but if the budget doesnt allow fz is the best buy...

Difference between an R1 and an FZ1 for a layman.... R1 is like a girl clad in saree while FZ1 is llike a girl clad in beach wear....

Ask the SVC guys to the check the battery charging. Might want to check the electrolyte levels now though...

This I can help. You got to adjust the idling screw (when the engine is warm mind) to maintain the rpm at 1.5k. Lot of guys do it when the engine is cold and hence shoots up when temperature builds up.

Well for a guy who's graduated from a scooty this by itself is an achievement.
But I donno. I dont think I'd have gone above 110 in any case. I was driving into the wind (One hell of a windy place NICE road is) may be that was a factor too.

Actually Kinshuk is right. FZ was always meant to be a street bike. From what I've heard from my buddies, the old Karizma is awesome for touring. But my recommendation would be either the Thunderbird or the Avenger. I dont know much about their engines but the seats are bloody comfortable...

What we need from Yamaha is to plonk a 200+cc on the old Enticer and price it at 85k and bye bye Avenger.

Thanks guys!
@ Phenom - Well, the bike is one of the most comfy in 1500cc class.

My budget won't allow for a Karizma...... do you think a second hand is good?
