Regarding the permission from parents, the only way I saw and do is show them and educate them on the safety that I take for my rides. And believe me things have changed a lot, my parents don't stop to go for any trip on a bike now seeing my safety first attitude. Try this and I am sure you will succeed!

+++100 to that..!
my parents where bit relief-ed when they saw me getting all the safety stuff, medical kits, bike fixing things to avoid any kinds of mishaps if happens..!
I just told them, "send me with a trust, have a faith in me & I promise, I will be back the same way you are sending me & with more satisfaction." Today I thank them for the same..

The bridge is NOT constructed by ARMY. Its constructed by GREF(General Reserve Engineering Force) [Border Roads Engineering Services] aka BRO(Border Roads Organisation) as some might know. The Yellow painted sign with the triangle in the top (the formation sign of department) in your next pic are all signatures of this might department The strech from Manali to Leh Is under my Dad's organisation. And there goes the rightfully credit to the right people
