Wow! Almost missed this. Now I am updated. Read the texts and saw the pictures. It is common problem sleeping at high altitudes and waking up often thinking that it is already morning. I had similar problems trekking at 6000 meters! Despite acclimatisation for 72 hours.

Somehow I do not much like Zojila pass. I find that there is too much traffic and it is too dangerous. Army people seem not to care whether you ride or fall!

Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed this.

Thanks Ken Da, trekking at 6000 meters, it must have been a wonderful experience. Maybe next time I go trecking to these places.
Truly said, the roads are the worst at Zoji La pass and there is always a traffic jam there.

Traffic jam at Zoji La is true... always faithful and present!

Trekking there requires a different preparation. I did the Markha Valley trek for 10 days mostly between 4500 and 6000 metres altitude. Terrific fun. You can do it. But be very well prepared. Ride and trek and then ride back if you have the stamina!

I had done some rock climbing, sometimes back, it was a camp for a month at Nainital. The plan now is to have some on snow, will plan and certainly let you know to have your valuable suggestions.

Simply wonderful...can read this thread any no.of times!
Now tell me, I can understand your removing the RVMs, but why the grab rails? Your luggage was in the Scorpio, right?
Also one more thing, why is washing of vehicles not allowed at Leh?

Yup, even I keep reading it many a times.
The grab rails were lost in a crash and were not available here in Chandigarh. After that I got the single seat cowl, and now to me the cowl suits more without the grab rails.
And yes, all of my luggage was in the scorpio.
Washing of vehicles is prohibited in Leh to save on portable water.

                      Hi Anuj,

A suggestion from me is pen down all your hurdles for the trip and you will see you dont have many, well this is how I do.
Regarding the permission from parents, the only way I saw and do is show them and educate them on the safety that I take for my rides. And believe me things have changed a lot, my parents don't stop to go for any trip on a bike now seeing my safety first attitude. Try this and I am sure you will succeed!

my parents where bit relief-ed when they saw me getting all the safety stuff, medical kits, bike fixing things to avoid any kinds of mishaps if happens..!
I just told them, "send me with a trust, have a faith in me & I promise, I will be back the same way you are sending me & with more satisfaction." Today I thank them for the same..

The bridge is NOT constructed by ARMY. Its constructed by GREF(General Reserve Engineering Force) [Border Roads Engineering Services] aka BRO(Border Roads Organisation) as some might know. The Yellow painted sign with the triangle in the top (the formation sign of department) in your next pic are all signatures of this might department The strech from Manali to Leh Is under my Dad's organisation. And there goes the rightfully credit to the right people
