Yes I was fortunate enough, didn't even had a puncture whereas the Scorpio had two punctures.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostJust now saw all the photos..!!
Simply Amazing..the R15 really performed well..
Lucky you that you didnt face any issues...
Yes, all my stuff was in the vehicle, if you are carrying luggage and can get something made to carry stuff nothing like that. Its always better to have bolted connections than welded, so if possible get a bolted arrangement.Originally posted by eessa View Postjust need a bit info abt the trip all the stuff like jelly cans and yur clothes were in the car
do we need to get some extra things welded in our bike to keep jelly can
Thanks dear, will surely upload the high resolution pic.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAmazing stuff Biker Boy. Good to see the R-15 at Leh. Lovely pics there. Could you please post the high-res pic of the frozen water fall?
Yup, I am around 6'1". Dont have any issues till date, its absolutely comfortable.Originally posted by nabendubasu View PostOnce again nice pics.loved them all.
Tell me how tall are you if you dont have any problem,i guess above 6ft.do you find it ok to ride R15.
And why did you removed your riding shoe in every pit stop, any problem due to long time wearing it.
Waiting for more pics to come.
Regarding the riding shoes, I used to remove them to relax for a while, they are pretty comfortable.
Thnaks, Aryan.Originally posted by Aryan View PostLovely, real good going biker_boy. And we are all used to seeing ZMAs and Pulsars and Bullets up there in Leh. Seeing an R15 is, well, a nice change!

Day 5 & 6
Around Leh

Shay palace

The Leh valley
Two days we went around Leh. Also managed a visit to the Shey palace, but our plan of shopping in Leh was gone due to a strike. However I was able to get my bike washed, in Leh washing of vehicles is banned so one has to go to the outskirts for the washing. Lubed the chain and checked for the nuts and bolts.

Day 7 & 8
Leh - Kargil - Drass - Zozilla Pass - Kashmir - Jammu - Pathankot - Chadigarh
We started off from Leh by 08:00 hours after having our breakfast at the guesthouse itself, we get some really good apricot jam at Leh. Riding on the roads from Leh was a delight, straight nicely paved stretches. Stoped at Pathar Sahib Gurudwara on the way for a while. Few kms ahead and we saw a board stating magnetic hill, the locals at Leh said the vehicles climb on their own on the slope there and hence the name magnetic hills. To give a try I applied the brakes and slowed down, the bike stopped, I waited for some time for the magnetic power to happen; nothing happened maybe thats because my bike has more of plastic then metal
.

On the way to Kargil

Zozilla Pass

The traffic jam

Drass - early morning

Form Leh

After some hours of riding alone, we saw a long queue of army trucks standing; there was a traffic jam because of convoy crossing. Sixty trucks on either side had to cross each other, couple of hours and the jam was cleared, and meanwhile we had some chat with the men in uniform too.
Reached Kargil by evening, spotted and got the puncture repaired of the scorpio. Started again and we reached Drass by 21:00 hours. We decided to stay there for the night. Got a guesthouse next to the road for 200 bucks per room.
Started early for the first time in the whole trip at 05:00 hours, the wind was chilling. Crossed Zozilla pass, patches of ice on the road made it bit difficult to ride. One had to search for roads all along the pass. Well, finally crossed the pass and the roads started getting better and better. We had a pit stop at Sonmarg for some tea and biscuits.
Reached Srinagar by 11:00 hours, got fresh and had lunch there. Again started from Srinagar at 15:00 hours. Now I was feeling tiered, because of having a sleep of just four hours and the tedious ride at zozilla pass. My friend Sonman took over and I went in the Scorpio for the first time. He rode for the next 200kms, I was feeling fine now and happy to see roads without and disturbance after a week. Came back on my steed at 22:00 hours somewhere 70kms from Jammu.
Our next stop was at a dhaba near Pathankot at around 02:00 hours. Had the dinner and started off again. Reached Kharad by 10:00 hours, had some tea and finally reached home by 11:00 hours. It was a continuous ride for approx. 32 hours from Drass to Chandigarh. Thanks to my friend Sonamn who rode for 200kms so that I could relax for a while. It was good to be home after such a tiring trip.
I must say this trip has been a journey of a lifetime.

Being here in Xbhp its easy to plan as there is lot of help. Before doing Leh my longest trip was Chandigarh - Delhi on my bike. Plan it properly and I am sure you wont face much problems doing itOriginally posted by tourer_kashif View PostThe pics are really tempting...
esp : Baralacha pass. Notice the height of the icy wall
I wish I gain enough riding experience asap so that I can plan for Leh.
Its a pilgrimage for every biker.
