Default Bike for highway commute

Hi Guys,

After riding my p150 for over 4 years and close to 50K KM's... i have decided to upgrade. My main use of the bike would be for highway commute to and fro to office, which would be close to 50KM's daily + weekend trips and G2G's.

The options i have included with my preferences are P220(30%),R15(60%) and Apache 180(10%).

Please help me choose a right bike.

Thanks,
Sathya

Well if you're indeed cool with the radical riding position the R15 has to offer, then look no further to satisfy all your upgrading needs. But if you're into a little bit of touring too, then you might just as well check out the P220.

The RTR180, is indeed a kickass bike, but if you're not cool with the riding position of the rtr180 then you might as well right this off your checklist.

My personal vote goes for

1.P220
2.R15
3.RTR180

PS:If you're having a budget of close to a lack, then why isn't the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twin-Spark in this list??

Both P220 and R15 are good for highway commuting. But still i personally feel the P220 is more comfortable of two.

Apache on the other hand , is more suited for the urban jungle.

why not ZMR? Suggested because it was in cost bracket of R15.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I might not do a lot of touring on my bike, as i would be using my car instead for that.it would only be small tours <500KM's on my bike.

I Did not consider the RE, as i wanted to enjoy a bit of sporty bikes before going to the RE. my next upgrade would be an RE and i would settle with that, along with keeping whatever i buy right now.

I had a small TD of both the bikes and OK with the ride comfort of both.
I am a very little inclined towards Apache coz of its looks, which did not appeal to me.

I did not include the ZMR, as ZMA-R did not appeal to me, and i guess the ride on ZMR would be no different.

P220 would be a more worthy tool for your usage IMO...R15 too is a good bike and since your preference is quite high for this machine, just go for it...You can never go wrong with it.

The Yamaha R15 is your bike.It has the sporty feel which you really want and it's got lots of power.Well it's great for touring and short city rides.Regarding the economy,it's not vary bad either...Considering the other choices. If i were you my choice would be this before graduating to an Royal Enfield.
