Cheap, Strong, Light (any two right?)

I can find Btwin bicycles at Raipur, anything in particular?
BSA will be VFM. It will be cheap and strong. No one said anything about light

Honestly in your budget it will never be light. So better to look for cheap and strong. The Btwin Mybike 7 or something like that it is called. 10000 or less if i remember correctly.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

I buying this as an investment for lifetime hence my insistence in quality. It should last me a really long time. Yes its like having a cake and eat it too. Idk im very cautious as I don't have any previous experience buying a bicycle. Any way I will look at Btwin and Im slightly inclined at Raleigh Misceo, its 14kgs, strong, has decent build. Lets see.

Do checkout the bike I posted about. It's available in any Track & Trail outlet, It's called Mach City. I found it amazing quality for the price of 11k! It's the most bang for the buck bike. Though I've now left it at Jaipur for my bike Father to ride, I still think its a great starter bike.

Will take a look at Munich 21. As of now I have Raleigh Misceo and Munich 21 on the list any other bike should I consider?

Choose a cycle based on purpose. If you want to use it for short distance then heavy bike is fine. If one intendes to do north of 100kms in a ride then think about weight.

I have captured how I bought my bike in my blog. Have detailed how my budget went up by 4 folds from initial plan.

I am a regular long distance runner and now I want to try my hands on cycling. As I have never rode a geared cycle I am planning to buy a used cycle. So what should I check when I go see the bike?
I am from Pune and planning to buy it for long distance cycling.
Is a road cycle advisable? I am getting option for a Firefox RoadPro 2200 which is 3-4 years old. Should I go for it?

My budget is less than 10k.

As mentioned in few of the other thread posts, try the Cyclops FB group (for 2nd hand cycles).

Also, you can buy a new Btwin rockrider well within 10k.
Try visiting the Decathlon Wagholi Store, ride a few different cycles so that you select the size you are comfortable with.

I already follow the Cyclop group on facebook but most of the sale posts are for high performance bikes which are way out of my budget and to be honest I wont be able to do justice with all the features they come with, thats why checking more on olx for cheaper used bikes.
Will surely check Decathlon store for Rockrider

Just an update, I had bought a Schnell m300 29er; it's been more than a year.
Had a minor incident with it 2 days back, when crossing a speed-breaker in my housing society; tried to just jump over it (just a small but not a complete bunny hop),
but instead, I slipped and fell down, a minor scratch near the knee for me, but the most worrying part: the rim of the front type was bent in quite some different shape (mind you, this is about the original rim which comes pre fitted with the tyre and all), and I was like, I have been in far worse bicycle accidents and in only 1 of them the tyre rim was bent/disfigured so much (considering the cycle was old and was very cheap as compared to the one I have as of now).
I thought that Schnell would be of better quality than this, a minor and slow incident and that too on a flat road, and yet here I am with an elliptical disfigured shape rim.

Does anybody know that do we have any kind of warranty on the rims or not?

Next time I will have to be careful either when riding or when buying a new bicycle....

Hello. I am in search of a cycle. I plan to use it to go for shopping in the city and short rides through potholed rural roads. So the riding comfort is required. I am not interested in disc brakes as they require more maintenance. Front shocks are required. Budget below 25k. I plan to keep it for a long time so alloy frame is also my requirement. I have almost short listed LA soverign striker and Montra Blues 1.1. Striker comes with disc brakes, which I dnt need.Any reviews on how good the brand LA soverign is? Any other option in the price range? If I could install a carrier for shopping bags, it would be great. Please help.

Hi, at your price point i would suggest getting in touch with Psynyde. They have come up with a new bike which sounds like a real good deal especially at the pre-booking price. I am pretty sure it would be a better deal than both the LA and the Montra. Downside is that since it has just been launched, deliveries will only be in November.

                            Hi brothers,

I am in lookout for a beginner cycle for short commute and weekend rides. I am from Chennai. I already visited Decathlon, Track and trial and Just buy cycles.

Tried BTWN mybike, Machcity, Munich 21, Montra downtown and Firefox rapide.

I was comfortable on Munich, Montra and Firefox. My height is 5'10"

The sales person in Track n trial was suggesting Montra because the gap between my crotch and Top bar of cycle was more in Munich ( about 3-4") in Montra the gap is very less about 2". I am a bit skeptical about this logic. As per my understanding, If something happen and I brake suddenly and jump down from seat, I have more probability to get myself injured in Montra as the gap is less.

Please clarify my doubt on how to select the frame size.

I am more inclined towards Munich 21, but am worried because of the selection criteria told by sales executive.

                            Thanks

                            Anand
