hmm, action pictures will have to wait for sometime i guess, if you look closely at the pics of my viper, you would notice that i doesnt have a front caliper installed. while i have a caliper lying around, the manitou which is a new school fork, has got post mounts, which means the caliper mounting bolts goes in from behind ( er...no pun intended) where as on older forks the caliper mounting bolts goes in from the side.


this image will explain it perfectly, incidentally the post mounts pictured in this pic is that of a manitou.

so the problem is, my calipers are compatible wid IS mounts and not post mounts, so i have to fabricate an adapter, which i already have, but i messed up in a certain area, gotta get back to the drawing board !!!

yes ofcourse you can fit the crankset from a LA spectrum. but keep in mind about the left and right handside pedals !!!

Thanx Man...I did a stupid mistake which I found yesterday (as u also correctly mentioned) I tried to put the wrong pedal in wrong side...and by applying so much force I succeded to fit them too...What I found yesterday morning my first 3 threads are gone...I am laughing on me from that time...my crank-ram is gone...Still working fine since holding the pedal on last two threads, hope is not going to make any serious issue unless I am going for any offroad...Just called my dealer for a spare piece and a crank extractor...he will arrange them soon.
And about the sound from my pedal...actually it was coming from the point where crankset fits with frame...it was loose, just tightened the bolt and sound is gone.

hey rajiv buddy!!

looks like you're not able to fit the pedals back into the crankarm, one thing you gotta remember is, the pedals have L and R marked on them,(mostly on the axle) that means L goes in left hand side crankarm, and R goes into the right hand side crankarm. do check that. also check the threads on the pedal as well as the crankarm ( they might be stripped if you've tried fixing them forcefully) , hope they arent stripped, if thats the case, you'll need to change them.
as far as the sound in the pedal, i guess its probably becuz of a missin ball, or a worn out cup or cone in the pedal( the parts in between where the balls go) if you can replace these, the problem should go.

and regarding branded pedals, m sorry friend, unfortunately in india, you wont get branded pedals or for that matter any branded bicycle component easily. you either have to beg your so called friends who are comin back from US/ Canada/ europe/ south east asian countries). or mail order them. shipping costs are a major concern though
however you can check are firefox stores, probably you could get your hands on some taiwanese makes.

May be yes...not aware of the proper terms...I was talking about the part where pedal fits in...I will explain the rest once more...I removed the pedals to apply oil to avoid the sounds coming out of it...now after oiling when I am trying to fit those back in the crankset it feels very tight...I think its not following the thread so not going straight. Crankram is alumnium and the pedals are steel so may be they are cutting the internal thread while going in...May be I have put my issue better this time...
Now there are two problems...may be I need to change my crankset, so I want go for really better one. You can suggest me some best brands available in India. The second issue is my pedals it just never stop creaking...I shown to some mechanic to check whether any ball inside pedal got damaged or not, but seems all balls inside are ok. I have already finished half bottle of sewing machine oil on my pedals...so gave up. I will also try to go the best brand available here...

my pedals are from a brand called 'bombshell', my friend got them for me from the US.

It looks cool...specially the suspensions. I think you have also changed disc brakes except the discs(what is their spec.)...I can see also the pedal bars are not same as it comes with the bike...I am also planning for the same...

From last some days some strage sounds are coming out of my pedal...my nearest mechanic advised me to apply some oil. I found them difficult without removing the pedals...but now its a hedache to again bring those back to their previous position...i think while tightening pedals are not going straight inside...I m totally off. Nethier the problem solved and I have to change the total pedal set I think...
