I think Honda and Kawasaki realise that most users will tend to remove the guards so no point in wasting time designing something that will not be utilised by a majority of the folk buying the bikes!

      My 2 cents of speculation

BTW @Payeng - loved the review! Damn looks like I will be dreaming of getting the 650R afterall!

( maybe i am used to bigger ones thats why ) , has got ample power, the owner zips to 200kmph on highways on it quite easily, again, is very very comfortable..
The original buyer has sold the bike now and I dont know who bought it..
        @Fireblah:

Thanks for the input. Will try and get myself a test-ride if possible. All in all, it looks like a great motorcycle, especially at that price.

Lakhpati, nice nick BDW their is only one color option available, that's green.

Nice reviews and great thought yet in this thread. I was expecting a super sport bike to be launched by Bajaj, which could be ZX-6R most suitably. Another tourer, with just some more cc, not so happening indeed.

For some riders likes me, owing a super sport bike could be more exciting than another sports tourer. I think Hyosung GT650 R is much better and gives a lot, under same price band. But still both bikes falls in different categories.

BDW exhaust sound and looks of GT 650R are far better in my view, but servicing option for NINJA are far far better than hyosung.

Hi Thanks. Only green is disappointing, I do understand the "Ninja-should-be-green" thought but I find it ostensibly loud. Black is more blend-in, but that's just me. Went to the showroom to book one, was unpleasantly surprised. Sigh!

                    • Great Review. One of the finest, I believe, still I have my own doubts.
What's the point spending upto your boxers for a steed like this for which, there exists literally zilch After sales, untrained mechanics, absoluting disgusting and futile insurance T&Cs and what not, I can go on till a mod shows up and ban me!
I know things are improving, but the pace is disappointing.
Finding a parking lot for a celebrity bike such as Ninja, is an arduous exercise in itself, where you can avoid folks who love to see their face, locks in tiny RVMs rather than at home with humongous mirrors and not of Ooooh-what-does-this-button-do kinda attitudes!
                      Long way to go!
Na tha kuch to khuda tha, kuch na hota to khuda hota, duboya mujhko hone ne, na main hota to kya hota!

                      • maybe a bit off topic and i might also be sounding critique ; though i respect bajaj for getting 650r to india i think 400r would have made more sense with a 399cc mill and 44ps power it would have justified it compact size(coz i hear a lot of criticsm it looks way too compact), with enough power for our indian roads and a better mileage
did i forget to mention it might would also be bit cheaper (not that i have any issues with the pricing of the 650r) making it a complete touring package .
And at the same time could have launched zx6 r as a 600cc thus making their portfolio more comprehensive.Though i know it all easier said than done but that been said it still could have been done.

just out of curiosity , with the 250r priced in 3L bracket and 650r in 5L bracket if in future we get a 400r where does it really fit ??

@anuk - You expect Kawasaki to design an all new motor & Motorcycle for India? They won't.

Yes, those craving about a proper 'Sports Bike' vs this should see this video

Suzuki's new GSX650F is a great all-rounder, temptingly cheap and has enough pizazz to make a fun, useable sports bike - but is it good enough to tempt an R6...

                          Thanks

In case you were referring to the 400R, it is an existing bike and is available in Canada.
