    Thanks bro to the answers to my queries. I guess making a good bike is as simple as getting the basics right- handling, braking, grip, power, cornering, looks and you're done! And KTM Duke 200 just did that, as the review points out.
    This should remain the mantra- get the basics right with true sincerity & dedication.

    And your take on pricing is fine, as R15 itself costs 1.21L on road, with this bike bettering it in some crucial matters. So, 1.4-1.5 isn't all that bad, although I think Bajaj will killer-price it...

    As far as CBR is concerned, it still has a better top end, but owners are getting critical about it (bad paint quality, bad handling, average braking, etc, etc.).

        Not only the bike is international but the review done is on par with its standards.

        I have to say, none of the other Indian publications come close to this work of Xbhp. Reading about the Duke on other publications had me interested in the bike for a while, but never did I go berserk over the orangey-ness of the baby Duke. Thanks to those superbly shot pics, I am a convert now.

        Thanks for the history lessons on KTM as well. It made an interesting read.

        What a bike, really. This bike proves why money is and will always remain a necessity!

                        As far as I came to know( from one of the Guy who is currently attaining the TOKYO MOTOR show ), the ABS version of the KTM Duke 200 is also on the making and it will be launched in 2012 only. Currently R&D for ABS is going on now with BOSCH and is under Testing.

                        I dont know about the Authenticity. This was what this Guy told after he had a brief conversation with President of the KTM Japan in the Tokyo Motor Show.
                        So keeping fingers crossed Hope the ABS version is also launched sometime later.

                          Sweet review man, sweet bike, great performance for a small bike, the only real let down is the saree guard and the mud guard, but then again real dudes own a set of spanners, so both can be removed swiftly.

                          Gotta get one of these, after I get the mrs a nano spark or something.

                          This I guess is the best and most exciting budget bike launch in India since the original R15, hope bajaj can make sure the local version is reliable and well built.

                            Thanks guys for appreciating the review. I guess me and Gourab along with SunilG at the xBhpHQ worked hard for this since the bike itself was so inspiring. Great products inspire great stuff.

                            But this does not mean other motorcycles in the market are not good. We must give FULL credit to CBR250R for starting the game and taking it to a whole new level. They are the ones who first produced a quality product for the 250 segment and got it at such a price.

                            We must also not forget that the KTM 200 is a new bike, no matter what is its legacy. It may have flaws which will only come out after it is used in teh real world extensively by people like us who take it to the limit.

                            Whatever said and done, we have more options now to choose from. The KTM 200 and the CBR 250R are totally different bikes and they have to be treated so.

                            I will be answering more questions along with updating the review tomorrow.

                              Unbelievable...

                              Right now, I can't see anything other than orange.

                              This is what a bike should be, it should make you go weak in knees and write a check immediately in that transe and then say..

                              Damn.. that was my 12 month savings, what did I do

                              Disappointments : top end less than P220??

                              Flicker of hope : Configurable rev limiter, if that makes it onto production model

                              Finally, i'm ready with a 1.6 lakh FD for Duke 200, as and when I come back to India, I think this is the first thing i'm going to do.. buy Duke 200 before even reporting to office

                                also emphasizing the fact that even we have the technology and knowledge (now), to apply these construction principles to our own desi bikes!
