I really appriciate the hard work by ur team Sunny ji,
good pics as usual .. orange seems new national biking color now
may be the performance comparing with CBR and R15 is not justice as all of them different purpose and sections, but its really a true effort to show the best in each bike ..thank u for that.
and again as some one pointed out .. the charts numbers might be different when compared with different manufacture analysis, but overall its complete review

Looks like its here to take Cbr250 head on.
As a mangoman (aam aadmi) let me summarize
+ Many firsts like frame, forks and hifi digi-console
+ Lighter with leg guards ( good in our perspective during crash)
+ Extremely flickable due to lightness and apparently better quality
- torque ( Needed for touring with luggage)
- top end (for that open road burst and)
- Would need more than 91 RON because of compression ratio
Guys I maybe wrong so don't jump on me. Its all on paper now.
Now pricing would be the key...

Worth the wait, amazing detailed review and bikes surely looks tempting. It will definitely turn out to be head turner
Completely agree to your point, It will give an altogether different pleasure, Won't mind getting Leh'd again but your above line can be taken in other way due to its lesser capacity fuel tank, every time hunting for a fuel pump, it would surely never be the sameOriginally posted by Sunny View PostGetting Lehd on this would never be the same.

By far the best review so far. Enjoyed reading through it. Have been looking for a second bike and this might just be the one. But disappointed over the official accessory pricing as reported. Ridiculously priced. Anyways the bike seems to be awesome minus the low fuel tank capacity. From what I've heard from those who have ridden it already. This seems like a perfect spare bike. I hope Bajaj prices this well and keeps it real competitive and affordable. Also after sales service and cost of spares.
P.S. Loved the pictures

ORGASMIC !
This is what i also love xbhp for ! What a review ! Its after 2years that im totally impressed about a review of a bike (last time was the review of the Pulsar135LS which impressed me so much that I straightaway booked it and do not regret that decision)
Simply amazing write-up and kudos to the flawless, crisp, intelligent photography! Congratulations Sunny,MG and SunilG! Hats off to the team effort! All your efforts are clearly seen here and i really do appreciate them !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Very good review.
For those who think the accessories pricing is high:
That's because firstly they are indicative and secondly those are not manufactured in India. Many of these accessories belong to higher capacity duke.
We can increase its top speed by putting smaller after market sprocket and that way it will 'Jyada degi'. More tank rang and ideal for touring. This is one of few bikes which can hit rev limiter in last gear. I think, after putting smaller sprocket it should be able to touch 150kph. Surely 0-60 won't be 3.33 anymore but hell I'm happy if it's under 5 sec.

In every story, there is the good, and the bad side.
First, the good: thank you for letting us get a glimpse of this much awaited exciting machine. Taking us through this brief history behind KTM, as well as treating us with magnificent pictures and an interesting read. I feel, a lots of questions that has been raging these past few days has been settled.
Now the bad: the bit about the comparison chart taken from, of all people, "Bajaj", was disappointing. It should have been a performance chart of KTM alone at this point, as this review has not actually tested them side by side. At the least, the reviewer should have mention the source.

Nice review, great effort ...
BUT
it looked more like an advertisement or online launch of KTM200 rather than a review with all praise and everything.
Plus points of review-- nice photos, in fact photo so good, that one can use them as wallpapers
- got to know a little bit of KTM history.
- comparison is done in the form of graphs
Negative points of review-- there was no need to include R15 in the comparison, which was there just to prove that you guys are not directly comparing it with CBR250.
- you could have done much better without CBR bashing.
- the comparison would have looked more authentic, if you guys had taken the CBR250 performance figures from some other reliable source.
- almost all the performance parameters are compared except top speed. why? because KTM200 looses out on that.
anyway, i am neither fighting for Honda nor against KTM. i just feel that reviews should always be done fairly and should not be biased. although KTM and CBR are just 50 CC apart and only 20-40,000 Rupees apart, they differ greatly in respect of the "purpose". every good bike launch brings in something new to indian market and should be welcomed for it. just as we love BAL and pulsars for bringing in indian market what we all know similarly CBR and honda should also be respected for bringing in india, the first affordable 250CC from an international brand.
anyway, lets not get into all this, i want to know how KTM200 compares with other bikes in terms of handling, braking and cornering, since you have praised KTM in these departments, but really not given a comparison.
also, if you can post a few pics of the bike with two people sitting on it, i mean rider and pillion. i want to see how it looks when there is a pillion along with the rider.
hey, which bike model was used for knee knockdown.Last edited by princesirohi; 12-08-2011, 03:32 AM.

^^^ that's dry weight of the bike, with fuel, engine oil & coolant it will weigh around 135kg.
Accessory pricing sure seems high, and as someone pointed out may be that's becuase they are not produced over here!!
Certainly disappointed with top speed number, but hey.. how many bikes can touch rev limiter in top gear?? that is surely fun.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/
