          • Looking at the pics i realise ... bajaj testing track does not have lot of right hand corners, does it..?

                • i got a chance to ride it for a fair distance .. i redlined it twice .. tested at high revs , mid revs and low revs too . traffic was pretty dense but still i managed to ride it insanely for some distance ...these are my observations ..

                  first the good bits :-
-- the engine is very smooth .. ( unicorn territory )
-- revs up very nicely and quite quickly too .. ( r15 type )
-- gear shifts were absolute delight ... loved it ... smooth and light with the right amount of click feedback ..
-- clutch is light and easy
                  -- riding position is super
-- rider seat is very big .. pillion seat is big too ..
-- acceleration is good but not best ..
-- looks handsome in flesh ..
-- tacho is quick to respond to the revs .. unlike earlier pulsars ...
-- braking is too good ..
-- the engine is in silent mode until 5000rpm ..

                  now the bad bits :-
-- the vibes are alarming from foot pegs , handle bar , side panels ... i thought that rtr had the highest vibes but this thing beats it in vibes dept in a bad way ..
-- the perimeter frame also has quite a bit of vibes ..
-- vibes start from 6000rpm and gets alarming after 7000rpm ..
-- vibes were verified by both me and another xbhp member .. the bikes were brand new and were freshly brought out from the stock yard in front of us .. we were the first bunch of guys who got to ride it .. there were 2 test ride bikes ,, black and blue .. we tested both bikes for vibes and to our fear ,, it was the same ...
-- it was ridden only for a short time before me and i could feel the engine heat from 10ft away .. i could smell burnt engine and also it had some fumes coming out ..
-- the bike heats up more at the left side .. i got my left thigh roasted ..
-- the bike feels heavy for zig-zag traffic riding ..
-- rider seat is very wide and this makes it difficult for shorter guys ..thighs have to go wide from the seat for the feet to reach the ground ...
-- the rear foot pegs and the alluminium bit which holds the foot pegs are very weak .. it will flex sideways with very little effort .. it will eventually break if a heavy person gets on quickly..
-- the engine is powerless before 5000rpm ..
-- power is felt after 6000rpm and you get treated with a massage on your arms , thighs and feet post 7000rpm ...
-- i was expecting wheelie when i redlined it on 1st and 2nd gears but it didnt happen .. ns is not an advisable upgrade for p220 owners .. it is not entertaining enough ...
-- roll on acceleration is bad at low revs ... roll on acceleration is quite ok at mid revs but it will not give the KICK AT THE BACK kind of feel ...
-- note that the engine is very smooth only before midrange ..becomes harsh towards top revs and whole body vibrates ..

i really dont know why the vibes were kept hidden in all reviews .. these were fresh new bikes and was verified by me and another xbhp member on both bikes ...

Nobody has hid anything.. had the vibes been so bad then at least the owners should start complaining. If got any doubs let the owners speak for themselves.

The Vibrations are there. I have to agree with Rohan200NS. We both test drove together. But it is something you can live with. IMO not a deal breaker, test it before you buy it!

                          Few doubts:

                          1. If the engine has not completed run in, won't its performance be affected by redlining?

                          2. No other reviewer or owner has complained of vibes.. So don't you think it's a problem with those two bikes?

P.S - Thanks for your insight about the test ride :-)
                          +1

                          .
                          .
                          .
                          IMO:
The bikes are without running-in so its bound to have vibes.
All the new bikes will smell and get heated up when driven for the first time.

I saw the bikes in flesh today.. Photos don't do justice, it looks real good.
The vibes are not going to stop me buying it because it will surely have lesser vibes than my Yezdi Roadkind

Here's some more details on Rohan200NS review. The Bold once are my responses.

                            first the good bits :-
-- the engine is very smooth ..

I second all the above. I guess the acceleration will be better when there is no Pillion rider. Sales person was there with us. AND THE BREAKS ARE GOD LIKE. I tried jamming the breaks. The bike stayed in total control

                            now the bad bits :-
-- the vibes are alarming from foot pegs , handle bar , side panels ... i thought that rtr had the highest vibes but this thing beats it in vibes dept in a bad way ..

Vibes are felt all around. But IMO not a deal breaker. When you think about it, it is almost impossible to stop the vibes from the engine.

-- it was ridden only for a short time before me and i could feel the engine heat from 10ft away .. i could smell burnt engine and also it had some fumes coming out ..

-- the bike heats up more at the left side .. i got my left thigh roasted ..

The engine does get hot. But it was being test driven for an hour before we got it. And we all know how we would like to TEST RIDE A BIKE We even saw fume / smoke / steam (what ever that was). Could it be the Liquid cooling doing its work? I frankly do not know. will this happen with Liquid Cooling? Can anyone shed light on this?

I know you were stuck between the P200NS and the 200 Duke.

If you find the P200NS vibey, then forget about the 200 Duke as well dude.. coz the Duke has got definitely more vibrations than the P200NS post 100 Kmph/7,000 rpm.

I still can't believe someone complaining about the P200NS being vibey. Rating it over the RTR was simply Over the Top and just too much to believe.

Let the owners rev it above 6,000 rpm.. Surojit who must have clocked over 2000 kms must have revved it by now. If the onwers complain, only then I'll believe.

i was shocked too .. its definitely more than rtr ... why should the perimeter frame vibrate ?

i agree must b way better than my bullet anyway i would lik MG sir to explain the vibes on his test mule im sure he'd have revved it hard enough on those long 115kmph trips...
